The Hive Taphouse — Restaurant in Plains Township

We were going to wait until we could eat on the terrace but decided to check it out today. We were immediately greeted by Kelly who we found out later came in because they called and asked her to. This kid was flitting from table to table like a butterfly. She was the only waitress on staff in addition to the one tending bartender. Eventually both managers came out to seat, wait and serve. Not only did Kelly impress us but that did us as well. Now the food-I was disappointed that the only vegetarian option for a burger was a portobello mushroom. I ordered the nacho appetizer as my meal and, not only was it delicious but, it was humongous. My husband ordered the portobello mushroom burger and the loaded fries appetizer and loved both. We’d go back to try the terrace when it’s warmer. Hopefully, they’ll add a veggie burger in addition to the mushroom option and get another bartender cuz waiting for a beer is worse than waiting...

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGE. I review alot of places and this is one of the worst. With a dozen empty tables we waited 1/2 hour. I'm assuming it's staffing problems. The wait staff took longer than usual to take our order but the real problem was the missing items that were never brought to the table. Because the food was brought to us by someone other than the waitresses we thought we would ask the waitresses for the missing items but she never came back. I didn't see her again until after we finished eating. So we had to have her take the items off the bill. (She looked upset). We then got someone else's bill instead of ours. When I asked another waitresses to correct it she then talked to our waitresses and you could tell she was even more twisted now. What a disorganized mess...

While checking out the attached Mohegan Sun casino, I decided to pop by The Hive for a bite to eat and a drink or two. Both of which were good but nothing all that special. I was craving chicken fingers and got mine with Buffalo sauce, a side of fries, and an espresso martini from their specialty cocktail list. An odd combination, I know, but I needed a little jolt in me too. Servers were very kind, but considering it was a little slow, I would have appreciated a little extra attention than what we got. Where the place shines are the two awesome sport simulators they have in the back. From golf, to soccer, to football you can play all kinds of games with you and your buddies for a pretty fair price and is a decent alternative for people that aren't all that interested (or...
