Went into Mozzicato’s yesterday and was gravely overcharged for 4 waffle cookies. Was charged 7.50 for each instead of by the weight. I was overcharged by 32.00!!! My total bill ended up being 48.00! I had bought a few other items, too, which checked out in price. Questioned the girl who helped me and she insisted the price was correct. I ended up leaving because I was in a hurry and then after the fact, called the store later that same afternoon because the price still didn’t seem right. Staff confirmed I was overcharged and they can’t give a refund but only a store credit. I drove back to mozzicatos this morning with the receipt and the 4 waffle cookies so they could weigh them and then provide me with the difference (the money that belongs to me) and again, only store credit was an option and I was told “it’s store policy” My mother also called and spoke to the manager, Rino who was nothing short of rude and obnoxious. Again, only could come up with the “robotic” response, “that’s store policy” So, they make the mistake and then keep the money. Unprofessional, rude, and not customer service oriented. I could understand if I was over charged a few dollars and was given a store credit…I visit Mozzicatos at least 3 times throughout the month but to be overcharged 32.00 and you don’t refund the customer THEIR money! The “manager” should take lessons on how to treat their customers or find staff that knows the pricing of their products. I know mistakes happen…but to keep my money because store credit is an easier option for the store? Unacceptable and Poor service! Manger was not even sympathetic or understanding. Done with this store! Would give NO stars but had to give at least 1 to write this post. Manager was a complete JERK and highly unprofessional and knows nothing about customer service or how to...
Read moreI was disappointed with the curt treatment and lack of customer service I received in the Plainville store. I was excited to pick up a cookie tray I ordered for a client meeting and intended to place orders for 3 more. I was one of two customers in the store. The woman behind the pastry case got my cookies. I asked about a favorite pastry that I couldn't see in the case but thought they must have. Her response to me was "Yeh. It's right in front of you." Well, if you've been in the place, you'd see the extraordinarily long, packed pastry case. In front of me? Really? That's your response? It was not " in front of me." She walked all the way down to the end of the case and retrieved one for me. Maybe she should work somewhere else. Here's a wild thought about something called customer service. Say Hello and greet people who come to spend money at your store. Don't treat a customer like an inconvenience. When someone asks about a pastry, say "Yes, we have that. How many would you like?" Be very, very sure that we have choices of where we shop. This careless, bored, unfriendly employee lost 3 more orders and all future orders from me. And, she inspired this online review, which, if you are a reader who wants even a modicum of decent treatment when you spend $70 for a rather small plate of okay-tasting cookies, you might want to shop around. There are very good bakeries in Hartford, New Britain, Avon, Farmington, Waterbury, and other towns, that would love our business. It holds true (and I take a little editorial license here) that "people will forget you, but people will never forget how you...
Read moreMy wife and I got a Cappucino cake last year for our wedding at the Hartford location and were very pleased with it. We decided we would order a smaller one every year for our anniversary closer to our home at the Plainville location. This was our first anniversary and were driving out of state so we ordered and picked up this small 7 inch cake which is a little steep at $25. That night, we took it out of the fridge and bit into mostly frosting and ricotta, hardly any cake, HARDLY ANY TASTE! We were very displeased as we were looking forward to having this cake with champagne while on our anniversary. So we figured mistakes happen, we will just call and resolve this. We were argued with that this is how this cake is made (not so, as the wedding cake tasted and looked completely different), and after much of the bakery defending their cake instead of using any type of customer service, they offered a credit. How is a credit a viable resolution when we don't even trust they will make any other pastry/dessert correctly and by how they treat the customer, why should we give them any other business. Great job! They just lost a lifelong customer. Due to how they treated us on the phone, we will never use them again. So tired of this absolutely horrible customer service. Really regret getting our wedding cake with them. They are very rude people (managers and counter staff at...
