We’ve been to Craftway Kitchen in Plano several times before tonight and it’s definitely a family favorite. So much so that, when deciding where to eat for their 50th anniversary, my parents chose to eat here. As soon as they told us where they wanted to go, I called the restaurant to ask what could be done to make the night special for them. They told us what they usually did but the restaurant was very busy & they asked us to check back in the day of the reservation. We bought some decorations (2 glittery “5” and “0” tabletop numbers, balloons, a gold table runner, & a “50 years” cake topper) and brought them over to the restaurant. Anya and Amanda were there to greet us and were very accommodating and professional. They directed us to Bree, who collected our decorations and stored them for us until we returned. Not only did they store the decorations for us at the restaurant, but they also played along with us as we pretended we hadn’t just set the decorations up 2 minutes before my parents arrived. When we arrived at the table, our server, Justin, introduced himself and immediately wished my parents a happy anniversary. He was very attentive, courteous, kind, engaging, and hospitable. He truly made the evening even more special by surpassing all expectations and taking the time to connect with us. The restaurant also gifted my parents a bread pudding (pictured here), which they described as “small” but was the perfect size for my parents to share. It was plated beautifully and included a “happy anniversary” message and the cake topper we had provided! This was definitely a special way to celebrate my parents and it wouldn’t have been possible without Anya, Amanda, Bree, and Justin. We love this restaurant and we are especially grateful to these four professionals who went out of their way to provide my parents with a perfect 50th anniversary celebration. Thank you so much!

Please take the time to read this if you’re hunting reviews. Obviously going to a restaurant, you want to have good food. Well, you’ll 100% find it here. My husband and I have been going here for years. Weekly, my husband and father in law meet for dinner here to catch up. But what’s more amazing is their service and love they show their customers.

On Monday, I was driving home from work at the hospital and witnessed a horrific motorcycle accident. Since I am a nurse, I helped stabilize the man and made the 911 call. It was traumatic to say the least. My husband drove all the way back from our home in Prosper to make sure I was okay. Afterwards, I was in shock. I see death all the time at work, but this was something else. My husband was insisting on us not driving and taking a break at a restaurant and we chose Craftway since it was so close.

We walked in at 8:45pm, not realizing they closed at 9pm. The bartender asked how I was doing and I accidentally blurted “not good. I just saw a man die” to which he responded, “oh no, let’s change that. Let’s get you some water and a drink”. From then on the manager and bartender showed us more compassion than I could ever explain. They were insistent that we eat and drink even after they were closed. They even bought some of our drinks and never rushed us once. We ended up buying some beers for the cooks as a thank you. I walked in that restaurant crying my eyes out all over their bar top and left with a grateful heart, laughing from their jokes, and a full belly with amazing food. These are the type of restaurants and people that make a difference. Although I had been there before, this restaurant left an impression on us I’ll never forget. We’ll be customers for life. So if you’re thinking about whether or not you should try it out, please do. They deserve all of your business. You’ll be impressed by their food, but even more impressed by their kindness. Thank you to the staff at CraftWay for turning my dark day into something brighter....

What a warm and welcoming place! Having recently moved to Plano for business, I was looking for a spot that felt inviting, and this place delivered. From the moment I walked in, it felt like I was at a mate’s place. Everyone was friendly, warm, and attentive. My waitress, Porter, was cheerful, engaging, and the epitome of professionalism.

Now, onto the food. I learned that many places serve crawfish dishes during Lent, and this spot had an impressive selection. I started with one of my weaknesses... The gumbo. If it’s on the menu, I have to try it at least once. This one? About as close to perfect as it gets for me. The richness of the roux, the bite of the pepper, and the sweetness of the crawfish were spot on. One thing that often lets a restaurant gumbo down is the salt - too much, as it reduces over time. But not here. They nailed the balance. Excellent restraint chef!

The fried crawfish tails had a light, almost tempura-like batter that didn’t overpower the dish. The crawfish étouffée was rich and thick, holding its flavor beautifully when mixed with rice. As much as I wanted to keep exploring the menu, I was stuffed. But Porter convinced me I had just enough room for a slice of cappuccino ice cream cake. The subtle coffee bitterness layered with dark chocolate ganache made for a dessert that wasn’t overly sweet - a treat for me.

As for drinks, I tried a couple of cocktails (their names escape me - let’s blame the drinks), but I wrapped up the night with a glass of their exclusive small-batch Angel’s Envy whiskey. While sipping, I had a great chat with Eric, who shared how they built such a fantastic restaurant.

What a team! Keep up the awesome work, I’ll definitely be...
