Let me start by saying the food is close to 4 star. We live close by and tried this place out on a Friday night a bit late. The service was good and the food was excellent. Yay! we found a mexican food place less than five minutes from our house to eat at... wrong :-(. We returned one week later on a Saturday to find a handwritten "closed" sign on the door. Disappointing but somewhat expected for a small mom-n-pop business. We tried again the following Monday night. They were opened. Looking forward to the excellent salsa and great green fajita enchiladas from the first visit, we went inside. The service was a bit slow compared to the 1st visit. After the waiter took our drink order we decided on fajitas, fajita green enchiladas but decided to forgo the less than average quaeso from the week before and just enjoy the great salsa. Upon the arrival of our drinks we were told that they were out of... get this... chips, salsa, and fajita meat. Leaving my wife and I with a puzzled look the waiter rushed off. When he finally returned we told him we would just pay for our iced teas and leave. At first he could not make change for the $4.50 in iced tea. I thought this odd so when he finally got together $16 in $1 bills I asked for a receipt. He was obviously trying to make change with tip $$ and not ring this up. As soon as the manager was requested the drinks were suddenly comped. If you are looking for a hit or miss circus show then this is a great choice. For a reliable authentic Mexican dinner it's worth the effort to find...

I've lasted through the changes in ownership, but the management of the place really has always had issues. As the other reviewers mentioned, service can be REALLY bad (ignoring people for long periods of time, long waits, frequently running out of items on the menu, etc.)
It's sad, really, because the food (when you can get it) is REALLY good.
The icing on the cake for me was a a recent take out visit where they REFUSED to honor THEIR OWN COUPON WHICH THEY THEMSELVES HAD SENT ME because they were "now using a new system" and didn't have a place to put in the discount.
We've given that place so many chances over the years, and even in the last two years we've kept coming back hoping they'd finally gotten their ducks in a row to have their terrible service match their great tasting food.
Unfortunately, there's just a point where you have to cut bait. It's just...
