I, like many others, drove FAR (more than an hour) to try the Dubai pistachio chocolate bar âlocallyâ rather than order online. As an initial impression walking in, I LOVED the store. Especially the tea sets. It wasnât busy or heavily scented & as a first-time customer, I was treated as Iâve always been treated my entire life when going into a small businesses, so I didnât think anything of it except that it was unremarkable. Just another purchasing experience.
However, after coming here to leave a review of my own experience & reading a great many 5-âď¸ reviews, I have to agree with the 1-âď¸âs in that I didnât receive ANY of the treatment others are clamoring about.
âđž of all, I was barely greeted when I came in. It was more like a âwe are acknowledging youâ rather than a welcoming excitement that I was there kind of greeting. I will say there was a smile attached to the greeting, but I was quickly left alone afterwards & a bit later on was finally asked if I knew what I wanted.
In retrospect, maybe this was more of a âhurry up and buyâ (if you catch the reference) kind of question, so maybe that wasnât the best question to ask. Maybe it should have been, âCan I help you with anything?â Or even âIs there something youâd like to tryâ since apparently they gave out samples to others (as stated in other reviews).
Which will probably be my second observation/experience. No one offered me samples of ANYTHING. And I actually wanted to sample the smoked and lemon pistachios and stood in front of the nut counter for quite some time looking at all the variety they had (it wasnât just pistachios).
As a vegetarian, I would have likely cleaned house for some good nuts as nuts & seeds are a huge snack food for me. But no one ever approached me while I stood in front of them. Unless Iâm told specifically or there is signage, Iâm not one to ask any business to let me try something (as Iâm sure many arenât) simply because itâs essentially asking for free product, so if it was something theyâd offered others, why wasnât it offered to me? đ¤
Third, I didnât even KNOW they had ice cream!! I definitely would have tried that! They just watched me browse and then when I was ready or had a question, I was helped. There was nothing in the store, that I saw, that even indicated they had ice cream, which tells me again, this is something they only offer to certain people. Then again, maybe they were out as Iâve read others complain about them being out of other products.
As I said previously, I wasnât treated any differently than I have been my entire life. The gag is, unfortunately, the way Iâve been treated my entire life is right in line with being treated cordially because the business wants my money rather than hospitably, as others have experienced, which is disappointing.
Another disappointment is that they were definitely a bit deceitful when it came to the purchase of the Dubai chocolate. They had stacks of prepackaged bars in the chill case. One large red box and a smaller green box. When asked about the prices, I was told it was $6.99 for the smaller green box. When I selected it for purchase the clerk went to the back and gave me a single piece of chocolate in a plastic containerâŚ..for $6.99. 𤨠They didnât even attempt to provide the small box AT ALL. I didnât make a fuss, just made a mental note, paid & left.
Iâm not going to go so far as to say I will never go back because I want to see if my experience was isolated to who was working that day or if the other one star reviews were spot on.
Unfortunately, the simple fact that I wasnât offered samples (as some others were) and that I wasnât told about other products, (like the ice cream) I am less than hopeful that my experience will be different.
I definitely will not be prompting the information from them, I will just visit at a different time on a different day in the distant future and act as if Iâm a new customer & come back here to share my findings or update my review, if merited.
The crazy part is, I havenât even tried any of the chocolates I...
Read moreI have to be honest, I came here for the viral Dubai pistachio knafeh chocolate. Now I came here the first day and it was about a 45 minute wait to wait for the new batches to purchase however they did allow to place orders for next day pick up. I decided to come in another day to give it a try. I called in early and was instructed to come near closing as they can sell one to two chocolates after fulfilling their orders for the day. I got lucky on the second visit and finally got to purchase the viral chocolates. Now they were absolutely delightful! Even my husband who has a slight allergy to pistachios could not stop resisting these chocolates, they had the most addictive texture and crunch and the perfect amount of sweetness. The restaurant is full of other delights and sweets and treats that are worth trying. But the most beautiful part of this bakery are the owners themselves. During both of my visits, the owners and family members were so kind to quickly assist every customer and tried everything in their power to fulfill orders and make their customers happy. I am so happy for them and hope that they continue to thrive in their business and share their culture with...
Read moreI recently visited Pistachio , and I have to say, it was an absolutely delightful experience! This charming little shop has an incredible selection of sweets, that cater to all tastes. I went for the viral middle eastern pistachio chocolate that has recently gone viral on TikTok. BTW, it was delicious! I came the first time and was helped by a sweet young lady, second time I came by with my cousin and sister and was greeted and helped by a young men who was very helpful.
I noticed some recent negative review. It's important to remember that they are a small, local business. They couldn't have anticipated the massive demand. Despite this, their staff handled the situation with grace and professionalism. They were all so kind!
What really stood out to me was their commitment to quality and customer service. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help me find new favorites. The atmosphere in the shop is warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to try new things.
I'll definitely be back soon and encourage everyone to support this wonderful local gem!
Keep in mind a walk-in bar (small size) is $6.99 a big bar is $18.99 but you have to...
