We stopped by Fried Chicken on Coit Road for our very first time, drawn in by their halal certification and proximity to Independence Masjid Plano. It’s a cozy, straightforward spot—bright, clean and equipped with tables that seat up to four. The counter staff greeted us right away and offered honest menu recommendations.
The $24 Combo Deal
The friendly guy at the counter steered us toward their $24 offer, a perfect split between tenders and classic fried chicken. It delivered:
• 6 juicy chicken tenders—tender, well-seasoned and kid-approved • 4 pieces of crispy fried chicken—golden brown with a crunchy crust
My daughter zeroed in on the tenders; my son dove straight into the drumsticks. I sampled the fried chicken myself—it was tasty, though I’d prefer a fresher-smelling oil to eliminate any hint of greasiness (a simple oil rotation would elevate it).
Atmosphere & Service
• Space: Simple layout, enough room between tables for strollers or booster seats. • Cleanliness: Floors and tables were spotless, condiments neatly stocked. • Staff: Just two people on shift, yet they stayed upbeat, refilled drinks promptly and gave spot-on suggestions.
Kid Verdict
Our kids declared there Fried Chicken “awesome”—they couldn’t get enough. The portion sizes felt generous for the price, and the halal chicken gave us peace of mind.
Room for Improvement
• Switch to a lighter-smelling frying oil or increase oil changes. • Offer a small dipping-sauce sampler (ranch, honey mustard or spicy mayo). • Add a couple of fresh-veggie sides (coleslaw or carrot sticks) to balance the meal.
Final Thoughts
Krispy fried Chicken hits the essentials: honest staff, halal certification, solid portions and a clean dining area. It’s an ideal quick-bite stop after prayers or whenever the kids are craving something crispy. We’ll definitely be back—next time we’ll explore their other combo...
Read moreThis review is not for the food, which was decent, but rather customer service (not) offered at this location.
Here is some free advice: having your employees humiliating customers in front of the whole store over something as small as a can of pop may help your bottom line for now (by a measly $1 or $2), but it isn’t good for business in the long term.
I don’t intend to spend any more of my money at a place where I will be treated like a criminal.
And for the record: I was very clear that I wanted two drinks when I was ordering. I was unaware that I had to do your incompetent employees’ jobs and double check my receipt to make sure they took my order correctly.
Clearly this was my mistake and I should have known better, since for my last order here a few months back (takeout), they forgot to pack my drinks with the order altogether. Yet today, for the crime of taking one more can than I apparently paid for, I had to be called up to the counter and loudly asked how many cans I had taken from the fridge in an accusatory tone.
No sir, I’m too grown for...
Read moreSpotted this place while at the post office this morning and, being the fried chicken fan I am, had to stop by after errands to get some lunch. First off, staff was awesome and excited to help with any questions. Just a happy crew with smiles. The location is brand new. Nice, clean and well organized. I ordered the whole wings since I’m a purist and it’s what I judge all fried chicken experiences on. I was expecting spicy because I noticed “Cajun" in the sign and sides, not the case. Really good flavor to the bone and fantastic breading with great crunch, but not spicy. Fine with me, I love some hot sauce or jalapeños anyway. I had the fried potato wedges and they were a little thick for my liking but they were tasty, next time, I’ll try another side, maybe red beans and rice or mashed potatoes. Overall, great product at comparable prices with a happy staff are reasons I will gladly support this new spot. Getting family box next time and already looking...
