The ordering systems at multiple Sonics have been messed up for at least a week.
Today, I ordered a drink at this Sonic and the credit card screen was messed up. However, I definitely was still able to select pay with card and swiped my card. The screens after were all scrambled.
When the carhop came out, I mentioned to her the screen was messed up. I figured she would care since I was unable to tip on my card. She did not care at all.
She then told me the price of my order, as if I had selected to pay cash. I told her I had swiped my card. She told me it did not go through. So I paid her cash. She was very dismissive and rude throughout.
When I got home I checked my card online and they had charged my card. So she either lied to pocket the cash or is incompetent. I don't care about the money, it was just a couple bucks for a drink. Just the point that she was rude/dismissive when I mentioned the screen and she lied/incompetent about double charging me.
Not going back to any Sonic soon and definitely not this location for...

She told me just to give my debit card to the server and she would take it inside and run it. Yeah, no thanks! My daughter did this once at a Sonic in McKinney and a whole bunch of extra food (separate transactions) ended up going on her card. They really should have a sign on the screen to advise it's out of order. I got an iced coffee and my daughter got a Dr. Pepper with Nerds. Drove away, picked up my iced coffee to take a drink and it went down the front of my white tshirt. The lid was not secured properly all the way around. On May 18th we ordered two pretzel twists and a small chicken bites. After waiting about 10 minutes, a carhop approached us and let us know that they were out of both of these items and our order would be cancelled.
Unfortunately, the order was not cancelled and we were charged for food we did not receive. I reached out to customer support a week later after not receiving a refund. I was told the refund would come in 7-10 business days. It’s been longer and that refund still hasn’t come. This is very disappointing as we frequented sonic 2-3 a month on average. Until this is resolved we will not be returning.
