Thai Village Restaurant — Restaurant in Pleasant Hill

Thai Village has been in this location for many years. I hope they are able to stay in business. I suspect there's new ownership right now. I wish them all the best. The food is very tasty. We had shrimp rolls, Pad thai noodles, eggplant and green curry with shrimp. Everything was tasty. The shrimp are shrimpy... small. They are not large. The in dining experience needs The in dining experience needs some help. We weren't greeted warmly and we were the only people in the restaurant. The restaurant Decor is quite sparse. A few flowers or plants would make a big difference. They need new menus! The heavily grease stained fabric menus are kind of gross. Same with the old fabric booth bench seat. You can feel the springs. It looks dirty. The booth bench and the menus should be in a wipeable vinyl, that way they're hygienic and durable. These two things would greatly improve the dining environment. Also, if you can smile and be a little more friendly while serving that goes a very long way. Again, the food is tasty. Went to try a takeout restaurant for Valentine’s Day and we were very disappointed :(

First off, the estimated wait was 40 mins and it took an hour and 15 mins to get our food. While we were waiting, it was taking a very long time for people in the restaurant to place their orders and get their food as well.

We ordered pad Thai, pad ram, and massamum curry and we were disappointed with the flavors. The pad Thai seemed to be made with spaghetti noodles, and the curry was extremely bland. The rice was over cooked and mushy.

Sadly food wasn't good.

Chicken satay - ok but wouldn't order again. Pad kee mao - good with a decent amount of veggies. A bit spicier than im used to with this dish Pad see Ew - just ok Khao soi - tasted like bland water and this is my favourite dish at thai restaurants so this was the most disappointing. We had to toss it. Just wasnt worth eating :( Mango sticky rice - how can this go wrong? Well, rice + sauce didn't come warm and didn't have much sweetness. And the mango was sour.

We were very excited to try this place but it just unfortunately missed the mark on every dish.
