It's a diner, so it's nothing fancy, but it's not advertised as such. They're got a very large variety of items served all day with very generous operating hours. Nothing overly remarkable about the food, but it wasn't bad by any means. The pancakes were solid, the sweet potato fries were solid; the regular fries were too, although I don't think they were homemade. The hot roast beef sandwhich was just your typical cheap sandwich bread with what tasted like gravy from a packet. However, the actual roast beef was very tender and juicy, so props for that. Again, I wasn't expecting much so not taking points off. I will also say that the bacon was perfectly cooked for my tastes, which is to say that it was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Finally, I just really dig diner vibes, and this place is a quintessential example. Give 'em a shot! Update: I decided to return, and although the food was quite good, the service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. It was possibly the worst, now that I think about it. I probably could have done better myself, and I've never even served before. For starters, the waitress told me I could just get a country-fried steak by itself and choose my own sides since I don't like eggs. Then after I ordered, she came back and told me I couldn't do that. I didn't feel like messing around, so I just told her I'd pay for the whole meal plus the sides individually. Additionally, I would say that I had some questions, so she would answer one, walk away without warning, and then come back minutes later so I could finally ask the others. When the food finally started coming out 30+ minutes later, I got part of my food, and she asked if everything looked good. We said everything we were still missing. Even more time passes and I get my country-fried steak, which I think she probably forgot to put in. I also asked for butter for my pancakes and waffle, as well as my pie that I ordered, and she gives me an affirmation and heads back to the counter. My girlfriend goes up to the counter and gets it because she neglected to even do something as simple as grabbing packages of butter. She also clearly forgot to put in our order of chicken strips because after reminding her, they took like 15 minutes to come out. Like I said earlier, at least the food was good, because the service was atrocious. I also liked that they gave me bacon instead of eggs without me asking and they didn't charge me for the full combo plus the additional sides. I would go back for the food, but they desperately need better waitstaff. I'm reducing my four-star rating to only three.

We were seated around 1-1:10pm. We placed our orders and got our milkshakes first. Everyone enjoyed their milkshakes and we waited for our Entrees, and we waited some more, then some more. Then the people sat down and served after us left, then we waited some more. We got our food, after everyone around us had left. All of it was pretty Average, my brother asked for poached eggs and they were hard boiled. So we had them returned and he had to give them back so “he wouldn’t be charged”. So after that awkward interaction he got 2 Sunny-sides, as I got sunny sides and they were nice and runny. Only problem? We returned 3 eggs, and he got two back. Guess there was a send back tax. My miss and my brother’s sausage patties were over cooked and were nearly hockey pucks. I got a pancake with my meal, which was the Elvis breakfast one, as I wanted to try out their pancakes. It was a fluffy pancake with VERY light browning on either side. It wasn’t undercooked just no browning. My Bacon was cooked perfectly, and was the highlight to everyone’s meal. My sunny-sides were good, as mentioned before, and so were the house fries. Biscuit was nice and fluffy, sausage gravy was lacking. Service, as mentioned at the start, was horrible. Very slow. We almost walked out after waiting over half an hour, yet I calmed everyone down as I figured they would make it right somehow. We receive our checks, it was the full bill…. So we go to the register, cashier is different than the waitress we had. She asks, “how was it?” I said “slow” and she responded “yea, I know”. Proceeded to just check us out… even though they knew there was a problem. Hence this review. You can check my previous reviews. I love trying local places. This place was at 4.3 stars at the time of review. Maybe we will be the sole bad apple for the month. But this was one of the worst experiences I have had from a local restaurant. When we have gone to the local breakfast places by where we live, they make things right. My miss has eaten food with hair in it. Our entrees were written off and given a $10 gift card. Why do you do that? So we comeback, which we did. To another poor experience as we were miss assigned a table and had a long wait. Our drinks were written off and we got another $10 gift card. We partially paid that meal with the last $10 gift card. Guess what we did? We came back. They made right and we tried them again. (That was at Wildberry in Libertyville, Illinois.)

We come here at least once a week. Lately the service has been going downhill. We usually come in the evening and the young ladies that work there are doing anything but waiting on customers. They are usually gathered and chit-chatting or horsing around or glued totheircell phones. It is easy to see there is a real lack of management or leadership there, at least in the evening when we visit. By the time we got there this evening there were hardly any customers but yet it took an hour and a half for us to get our food. We actually had to go take a smoke break from waiting so long. Our waitress never came back to check on us until it was time to bring our check. After a half hour of waiting, she had to come back out and ask what one of our party ordered. After an hour, I asked if our food might be coming out shortly and she said it was still on the grill. When we pulled in I did see some people sitting out back of the restaurant in chairs so I'm not sure if that's what the holdup was or what but it was an unacceptably long time to wait for food. Of course the food there is good or we would not go there so often. It's just a shame that these young ladies don't realize how their service affects the customers and ultimately the restaurant. Every time lately that it has been bad we decide to give them another chance because it's close by and we enjoy the food. I can't say that we will continue to be treated as if our time is not valuable or that we are bothering them by being there. There are other restaurants available but I would love to see them get their act together soon before it's too...
