It’s Whataburger; you can’t go wrong with a Texas sized drink, fries, and a burger with mustard and extra pickles, or can you? This particular Whataburger, I’ve eaten at multiple times and at various hours of the day - as they’re open 24/7. Their food is on par or slightly better than any of the other fast food burger franchises in the area. I especially like their french fries.
Like all fast food joints, more than once this Whataburger has made my order incorrectly. If you’re going through their drive thru, I recommend checking your meal at the window before driving away. It seems they mess up my order more often via the drive thru than when dinning in. It’s a minor inconvenience, but expected.
This Whataburger’s dining area seems clean whenever I have eaten in. Their bathrooms (at least the male bathroom), was always stocked and seemed as clean as you can expect from a fast food restaurant. All of their employees cooking food seemed to be following good health standards, such as wearing gloves, hats, and not touching the food when possible. And I was always greeted promptly whenever I came inside to order food.
However, my largest complaint is the wait time. You can see other reviewers also have this issue too. It doesn’t matter what time of the day, or if you dine in or do the drive thru - the managers and staff just can’t seem to get food together and out the door fast enough. When dining in, I have waited for more than 20 minutes for food multiple times, and the establishment was not very busy each time. Furthermore, when going through the drive thru, I have waited more than 45 to 50 minutes for my food. And anytime I drive past the place, there’s almost always a long line of cars and trucks piled up in both lanes of the drive thru, even at 2am on a weekday. Each time, I’ve brought it up to management, they’ve given me the typical, “Sorry, [insert employee name] didn’t show up.”, or “Sorry, we don’t have the man power to get food out to you as fast as we’re supposed to.”
I believe part of the blame for long wait time is probably related to the fact that there’s not much open at 2am in Pleasanton and so everyone goes to Whataburger as there’s no other choice, and another part of the blame could be placed on the very small pool of potential employees that the business can draw from the community. When you can’t hire qualified people because there are no qualified people, and you need a warm body - you have to hire what’s available. These are probably just guesses as to the problematic wait time though.
So in conclusion, if you like Whataburger and you don’t mind waiting for extend periods of time, then this is the...
Read moreThe manager on the shift today, July 12,2022 at 2:00pm, was extremely rude to customers & employees!!!! While waiting in line listening to her speak down to an elderly lady trying to pay for her meal with exact change, because they didn’t have any coins in the register, I walked around the dining room area. Right before my husband ordered I told him there were 4 tables waiting for food in case he wanted to go elsewhere. At that moment the Mgr yelled right in our face “CAN SOMEONE GET THESE TABLES OUT FRONT CLEANED THE CUSTOMERS ARE COMPLAINING!!!” I tried to correct her but she blatantly ignored me. The a/c isn’t working inside the restaurant and the sweet lady doing excellent at cleaning tables and running curbside, and getting yelled at for no reason, was about to pass out from the heat. A male employee got her some water and had her sit while he helped her. The employees teamwork and efficiency was amazing; although it didn’t look like it had anything to do with good management. She had yelled at the other employees and was running the register while we sat and ate and watched all the dining room’s going’s-ons. 😳 We watched 2 people leave because no one was behind the register and finally some man asked “Is anyone running the front? We’d like to order!!” I understand poor service happens here and there, but treating employees and customers the way we saw today is absolutely NOT necessary and a horrible representation for any company or business. Taking employee safety into consideration should always be at the top of the...
Read moreI gotta say, throughout the 18 years I’ve lived in Texas, this is quite possibly the WORST Whataburger I’ve had. I will give some points on the atmosphere but that’s about it. Very clean and not to mention there was a lovely sunset on the horizon. But moving onto the food, my #2 was cold to the point where the cheese wasn’t even melted. It was as if the cookers grabbed a slice of cheese from the deep depths of the Antarctic Ocean, and the vegetables were okay at best. I was given the worst lettuce. THE HARD PART, and not to mention I was given some mediocre tomatoes. The only thing I can say is that the fries were pretty damn good, they were actually hot! Unlike the patties and cheese I was given on my #2. With that the most stars I can give this Whataburger is a 3 out of 5. The only cool thing I can say about this place is that they still have the 2006 - 2007 Sprite logo on their self serve soda fountain. With that i conclude my review of Whataburger Store #872. You may think I went overboard with this extensive review on this place but I wholeheartedly think that the people should decide on going here or not. Thank you...
