Newly settled on Route 611 in Tannersville, PA, Shinjiru Ramen stands out as a delightful haven for ramen enthusiasts seeking an authentic and satisfying culinary experience. My recent visit to this local addition left me enamored with their classic tonkotsu ramen, a bowl of rich and flavorful broth that boasts the perfect balance of savory goodness. The ramen noodles were cooked to perfection, providing a satisfying chewiness that complemented the tender slices of pork belly, bamboo shoots, pickled ginger, scallions, etc. Shinjiru Ramen truly excels in capturing the essence of this beloved Japanese comfort food.
To kick off the meal, we couldn't resist trying their takoyaki, and it was nothing short of fantastic. The octopus-filled dumplings were impeccably crispy on the outside and delightfully creamy on the inside, showcasing the chef's skill in achieving the perfect texture and flavor combination. Each bite was a burst of umami, leaving us craving more. We also had some steamed chicken gyoza dumplings that were also a treat. Delicate flavors but harmonious in balance. Additionally, the oolong tea served at Shinjiru Ramen was a refreshing accompaniment to our meal, offering a subtle balance to the robust flavors of the ramen and takoyaki. This is served unsweetened and chilled.
While the overall dining experience at Shinjiru Ramen was superb, it's worth noting that the prices were in line with the quality of the food but leaned towards the higher side. While the deliciousness of the dishes justifies the cost, some patrons may find themselves wishing for slightly more wallet-friendly options. Nevertheless, the outstanding flavors and cozy ambiance make Shinjiru Ramen a noteworthy destination for ramen aficionados in the Tannersville area, promising a culinary journey that will undoubtedly leave a...
Read moreWe did UberEats on 9/7/2024 so I can't say anything about the service and atmosphere so I will leave it at neutral.
For food wise whoever was the cook that night was atrocious. We did x2 Spicy Miso with Chicken, Chicken Karage, and x2 Gyudon for delivery.
The Chicken Karage was decent, you cant really mess that up.
The Spicy Miso with Chicken was actually good. Broth was good but not spicy at all. The proportions are not bad but the noodles that they used looks the instant noodles that are dehydrated. I've never had noodle in a ramen as thin as that.
Lets talk about the gyudon. That was the worst gyudon I've had in my life. They give you a bowl of rice with 5-6 super thin strips of the beef brisket. The taste was too sweet. Its like they bombarded it with sugar. I've had gyudon so many times from East Coast to West Coast and from Japan. Never have I ever had this type of gyudon from all the restaurants that I've been to. And the final nail in the coffin? The price. 15$ for a bowl of rice and 5-6 super thin strips of beef brisket. I don't like wasting food but I ended up just throwing this away after a few bites. It tasted like you're eating rice with syrup.
I looked at the picture of the gyudon from other customers that left reviews and ours definitely didn't look like that. I wish I took picture of the gyudon too.
We were so disappointed because the place has a really good rating. But I guess its good for the people...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Shinjiru, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The decor was modern yet inviting, with a touch of traditional Japanese elements that made the place feel authentic and special.
The star of the show, of course, was the ramen. I opted for the Tonkotsu Ramen, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The broth was rich and creamy, with layers of flavor that danced on my palate. The noodles were perfectly cooked, maintaining the right balance of chewiness and tenderness. The toppings, including tender slices of pork, a perfectly soft-boiled egg, and fresh green onions, were generously portioned and added to the overall depth of the dish.
The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to make recommendations. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the complimentary green tea and the beautifully presented appetizers.
Overall, Shinjiru is a gem of a ramen restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious dining experience. Whether you're a ramen aficionado or a first-timer, Shinjiru will...
