In all likelihood, one of the best small french boutique bakery in the world, including the ones in France, kidding you not! A little bakery with the essence of Provence. And no, I wasn't sent to write this review, nor was I bribed to do so, unless eating their amazing handmade and 💖 heart-felt baked sweet 🍮 or savory 🍄🍖pastery considered to be a bribery. If nothing else, eating some of their sweet stuff, and I'm more of a savory type of guy, is a sort of a crime.
One thing I'm sure about is, if you drive on route #1/ PCH, and you pass through the beautiful Point Arena town, and you don't stop at franny's and try one of her fabulous and creative pieces is an unnecessary self inflicted punishment!
Seriously now, just looking at their small vitrine, will make one`s mouth waters and grown ups weep like kids, especially if the place is closed, so better plan your trip accordingly, so when you pass by there, this place is open, or plan a trip especially just for that, you won't have any buyers remorse. Altough you might end up with some guilt feelings, the sweet ones, where you lick your lips, and dream of a better world.
They also have some unique small gifts, that they find and collect all over the world, some crazy stuff, but that's just a small side kick. You will find a small cute gift for your special loved one, or a special kindaof little toy for your kids, that you had/ saw from the 50tees or so.
So enjoy it, and bona petite!
And, btw, I'm ready to be bribed in retrospective. (And if anyone of you drive back to LA, I would love to get a home delivery,...
Read moreFranny is probably the sweetest person I’ve ever met! We got married on Sept. 28 in Gualala and knew exactly who we were going to work with for our wedding cake. Our niece actually works at Franny’s so it was a no brainer for us. But even though Franny is a good friend, she is a fantastic baker! We told her we wanted something tropical for our theme and gushed at the idea of a key-lime and piña colada cake (2 tiers). Franny had great ideas and knew exactly what to do with our vision. She even suggested decorating the cake with a little half coconut! We gave her flowers the day before and she used them to make the cake gorgeous!
The cake was delicious and had a very light flavor. We didn’t want it to be super heavy as the day was actually quite warm, so having a light and refreshing cake was perfect. Franny was so easy to work with and communicated well about our desires and logistics, such as getting the cake to our venue at the specified time and letting us borrow (for a deposit) some cake supplies (cake stand). It really took a lot of stress off of us and we’re so happy we chose Franny to make our...
Read moreGinger snap- not quite as snappy as I prefer, definitely a Whitney textured ginger molasses cookie. Good flavor but could be more. Just more. Good and would eat again but don't need again.
Obamalicious choc chip cookie- quite delicious. Balanced. Not overly sweet. Amazing moisture/ texture with great coconut mixed through. Would get again.
Lavender white chocolate cookie- happy cookie 😊 amazing flavor, not soapy at all. Crumbly, and slightly dry, almost a cornmeal like texture, but we would both get again.
Donut bread pudding- moist and dense but no extra soak which I really enjoy. Fruit, and decent fruit flavor, but nothing really coming from the bread pudding. Don't need again.
Peach raspberry coconut muffin- one of my favorite muffins of recent memory. Amazing sweet flavor, near perfect moisture, great top, great bottom. Would get more...
