Usually my experience with Bubbakoos is pretty good. I order from the app on the phone or go through the drive thru and the food is prepared well and at a decent rate. I usually tip very well, sometimes 10 or 20 dollars on a 20 dollar meal, because I once worked at McDonald's and know what it's like to prepare food for a lot of people daily.
Today, I went through the drive thru again and no one answered. I waited a couple minutes and no one answered still. I waited about five minutes and then still got no answer. I saw no one with headsets on through the window and thought maybe they forgot to turn it on or something. So I decided to come into the store. There were five girls working and one guy. I went in line and there were a couple people ahead of me. Then I noticed that the soda fountain area was out of service with a hand-written sign on it. The guy, without doing anything, walked over to it, looked around, and then took off the sign and brought it into the kitchen. I thought it odd since there were other customers there. He then said something to the girls that "someone" was coming in, and they all got excited. I thought maybe the owners were coming in.
So I waited patiently in line until what looked like a father and a son came in, and the girls all said hi in a cheerful voice. Hmmm...they didn't do that to me or the guy in front of me when I came in, but I didn't care. I just wanted to order my food and bring it home. The guy in front of me had a big order, so it took about 10-15 minutes for his order to finish. Then it came my turn...or so I thought. Instead of asking the next person in line their order, which was me, they asked the guy and his son behind me. Now I thought this was odd, and waited, and the girl helping them looked over at me, didn't say a word, and then continued with the people behind...
Read moreI’m not gonna lie when i say i was unaware of when they close when i came in. after leaving i saw that i came in about 20 minutes before close. i asked for fries and boardwalk cookies. i was told they couldn’t make fries. which was fine so i decided to just order the boardwalk cookies. i sat down and quietly waited. i didn’t complain or say a word. i was aware it would take a bit and was okay with that. someone walked in and started chatting it up with the workers. i assume either he worked there or was friends with all the staff members. i recall him saying he was dating someone in there. everything was fine until the guy asked the worker if we ordered or not with a disgusted tone. the worker replied that we ordered fries and cookies but that she couldn’t make the fries and the man replied as loud as he could “what are they stupid?” if making my order would of stressed them or annoyed them they could of straight up told me and i would of just nicely left. but to get dirty looks from the workers and to be called stupid? absolutely ridiculous and demeaning. i will say not all the workers were rude and even though one of them apparently kept giving me dirty looks she was nice to me. but specifically the man that came in and another worker were incredibly rude. my friends also say that when we were leaving he kept looking back and giving us dirty looks. i get that it must be super annoying to have a customer come in 20 minutes before they close. i’ve worked in food service and overall customer service. they could of just been honest with me and told me they were about to close and couldn’t make my order and i wouldn’t have even been remotely mad. but to give me dirty glares, call me stupid and overall make me feel super unease is just too much. we weren’t rude or loud, i nicely ordered, sat down, and wished them...
