It kills me that I have to write a negative review for Mon Alyssa because Ive always enjoyed their food over the years. My father and I were there on Christmas Eve. They had a 4 course menu with gluten free/vegetarian options. I have a gluten allergy and alerted the waitress before ordering my selections. My order consisted of Coconut Shrimp, House salad, Surf and Turf, and a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. My dad ordered the same appetizer and salad. He had the veal entree and tiramisu for dessert. After ordering, the waitress informed me that there was a mistake on the menu and that they could not make the coconut shrimp gluten free. However they can make me the polenta appetizer. I said ok. The appetizers came and it was not only cold but I couldn't even put my fork through it. It was tasteless and disgusting. Being that they were busy I didn't want to complain. The salads were fine because theres no way to mess up salad. Lol. The entrees came. The filet mignon was burnt to a crisp, had no seasoning and tasted like charcoal. The lobster was also overcooked. The best part of the meal was dessert. My father said the bread was also disgusting and his meal wasn't worth the money. All and all, I spent around $60/pp with tip and it was the worst meal of my life. I dont mind paying a premium for a holiday but I expect perfection and...
Read moreI REALLY like this restaurant. Once, years ago, my mother and I stumbled upon it on a random whim. We were going to get a slice of pizza but were asked if we wanted to eat at the restaurant instead, which we couldn’t readily see but were brought back into and greeted by an intimate space with someone playing music, and the food was excellent to boot!
Years later, about a week ago, I order a lot of food. A lovely young lady answered the phone, took money off my credit card, and offered to bring it to the car since they offered curb side. The food was so good again that we were going to order pizza to try tonight, but the young man on the phone was pretty rude. He told me they weren’t offering curbside anymore. I asked since when, since I’d gotten it literally four days ago. He said about three or four months now—really, during the pandemic, and while the numbers are starting to spike again?? I was going to go with it but while ordering he just had such an attitude that I decided to go elsewhere.
Great restaurants like this should either be careful who they hire, or be careful how they treat and train their employees, because this one lost them business.

Read moreOur out of town party of three visited recently and wanted to try lots of dishes and eat family style. Jordan provided excellent and patient service; one among us had many many requests and she continued to smile (thanks!). The frogs legs appetizer was unusual and quite delicious. Braised and so tender, they were served on a lemony caper sauce with Italian peppers and potatoes. Calamari was good but would have been more appealing if the breading was browned. House salads were very basic-lettuce and a couple tiny tomatoes and the house Italian dressing was orange in color. Different but good. The clams and linguini in white sauce had too much sauce but there were LOADS of clams. Spaghetti was solid; sausages and meatballs were spot on. The veal saltimboca was excellent but over sauced and a bit too cheesy for my tastes and the spinach was lost underneath the veal. We had two desserts, one pistachio, and one chocolate, and they were so good we practically licked the plates clean.
The restaurant isn’t much to look at inside and is small. It’s also BYOB, so plan ahead.
Overall a good place for a nice...
