⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shore Fresh Seafood Market & Restaurant, located on Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant, provides a relaxed, casual atmosphere perfect for seafood lovers. When we stopped by for a meal, the fresh market vibe was inviting, and I was eager to try a few of their popular offerings.
I ordered the Broiled Seafood Combo, which came with a choice of broiled or fried seafood. The platter featured shrimp, scallops, flounder, a mini crab cake, and whole clams, providing a nice mix of options. While the seafood was fresh, the overall flavors didn’t quite live up to the hype. The shrimp and scallops were cooked well, but the mini crab cake was a bit lackluster. The flounder, however, was prepared nicely and definitely a highlight of the dish.
On the side, I opted for French fries, but this was where things fell short. Even though I asked for them to be cooked a bit longer, they came out undercooked and lacked the crisp texture I was expecting. The crab cake sandwich we tried was average as well—decent, but nothing that stood out.
On a more positive note, the Lobster Bisque was a pleasant surprise. It had a nice, rich flavor with a good amount of lobster in it, making it one of the more enjoyable parts of the meal. I’d definitely recommend giving that a try if you visit.
The real star of our experience, though, was the service. Our server was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and great with the kids. They checked in on us often and made sure we had everything we needed, which made the meal more enjoyable despite the inconsistencies with the food.
Overall, while the food had its ups and downs, the excellent service and fresh seafood make Shore Fresh worth a visit. The Lobster Bisque was a highlight, and with a bit of improvement on some dishes (especially those fries), it has the potential to be a standout seafood spot in Point Pleasant. I would consider coming back again for...
Read moreI have a home in Chadwick Beach, and I've been on a search for the last few years to fine the best fresh fried flounder platter/sandwich. I did NOT find it today at Shore Fresh Seafood in Point Pleasant. I went into the market side, and a very pleasant young guy took my order. I ordered a fried flounder platter with French fries, and coleslaw. The breading was way too thick for the thin nature of the flounder underneath it. The breading totally separated from the fish. The fish tasted pretty fresh, but not quite as fresh as I would have liked. The tartar sauce was not homemade- it was a little tub of Ken's, and it was bad, and the coleslaw was fair to poor. The star of the dish was the French fries, which were thankfully not coated; they tasted really fresh and they were great. The price was fine- just under $20.00. I think if I had gotten the flounder broiled, it would have been much better, without that awful too-thick fried coating. The best fried flounder I've had in the last 10 years has been from Klein's in Belmar and from the Keyport Fishery in Keyport. Many years ago, the most amazing fried flounder I ever had was at a restaurant in the Highlands called Doris and Ed's, but that's been closed for...
Read moreRe-doing my review. I give the fish market portion 4 1/5 stars, but the restaurant 2 - 3. A few weeks ago I bought some beautiful scallops here. Pan seared them at home. They were scrumptious. I've always felt that the ambience here is what makes the experience, but I have had some enjoyable meals, especially the mussels and linguine dishes; the fish and chips. But tonight I went again and got take out. I ordered mussels in white wine and garlic sauce. THAT was the highlight of my meal. Yum. Probably could have just done a seafood stew with some crusty bread to dip in the sauce and be on cloud nine. I also got the lobster roll, and my dining partner got a shrimp salad roll -- rice pilaf on the side. The lobster roll wasn't terrible, but also certainly wasn't anything to write home about. The shrimp roll, I heard, was to be desired. The coleslaw was terrible, and the rice pilaf was truly awful. They used to have a beautiful yellow rice, clearly gone, and the stand in is a huge nope for me. $70 take out meal and it was truly MEH. That's too much...
