I have heard great things about this place. Walked in was seated not greeted and after 15 minutes had to ask to be waited on. Then final was waited on ordered onion rings which were forgotten by the kitchen per waitress. Then got a tiny portion of almost burnt onion rings. Complained to waitress. She went on about how busy they had been. Note that there were people in a circle and on phones in the kitchen. Tables all over not cleared. I asked to speak to the manager a guy. He shrugged all the while I talked to him. Never apologized or offered any resolve. I said standing here I can see why people are not working because you don’t care. This guy NEVER addressed me at all. My only positive was that my salad was very good. I observed another couple who waited forever for a beer and final went up to the counter to get it. All this while they stood around in the kitchen. The waitress complained about being short staffed. If everyone worked it would be over staffed. The owner should talk to the manager. He must not be able to talk as he offered no reason or appology for this...
Read moreWe were headed over to camp at Saylorville and had one of those days where one thing after another delayed us.
As the husband turned into the campground, I headed in over to Papa’s in Polk City and stopped long enough m, around 8:00 pm, to put in a to go order, they said about 15 minutes and they were spot on.
Food was piping hot even after the 10/15 minute drive back.
Delicious food, huge servings and the employees were very nice.
I ordered the cavatelli that came with a salad and two big pieces of garlic bread.
The salad is loaded with black olives, red onion, tomatoes and cheese.
The Mr ordered the sausage sandwich that is loaded with Graziano Italian sausage and covered in mozzarella cheese and came with fries.
Plenty of meat to make two sandwiches and zero complaints from the benefactor on his menu selection tonight.
Highly recommended!
We will continue to be repeat customers!
Years of putting our faith in them and have been happy every single time.
Well worth their prices too-very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food...
Read moreThis small, locally owned pizzeria is located in the square in Polk City. It boasts a menu of American comfort food favorites, such as pizza, breadsticks, onion rings, nachos, fries, wings, salads, wraps, pasta, and mac n cheese. The place is not overly decorated and overstimulating, nor is it too cramped, allowing for moderately sized booth and table options, and they do follow social distancing guidelines. The food quality was great, needing little room for improvement. We ordered a half-half White Italian and Super Papa pizza and were not left wanting. The salad could have been improved, but I honestly don't expect it to, since who goes to a pizza place for a salad? The service was decent, as our server was friendly, although seemed to be too busy, and I got the vibe that there was some kind of 'no refill' policy by looking around, even though being charged $3.95 for a regular pop. Pricing seemed a bit high, as our bill was $45 and we only got 1 pizza, 1 salad, and 2 drinks, but it is locally owned, so that's...
