Taqueria El Habanero Inc. — Restaurant in Pomona

I was craving some tacos and a good friend of mine suggested this place. I would have normally gone to tijuanas tacos on holt, but i decided to give this place a try.

At first, it looked great, place was packed! They were bringing the pabsa out for the menudo. Cooks were having a blast. The taquero looked like an octopus, fast putting out the food! Everything was on point until.... I got my food. At the end of the day, thats why I wwnt to this place.

The birria tacos looked good, they weren't all squished like most tacos places. The cilantro cebolla ratio was great as wel... the salsas were good. Spicy and well seasoned. But... the birria, the highlight of the show, was under seasoned. Had no flavor whatsoever. I mean it just made the taquero look bad, and I dont think it was his fault. Please, please, please, revise your recipe and add more salt to it. But for now, its just bland. What a shame. It has all the potential to be something way better than that.

So, this place was.. ok. I judge based on food, so the not-so-cordial service isn't part of my rating.

First, the good. Very good. The tacos dorados with birria and consome. I would only get that next time (see my picture). Semi-hard red taco shells are pre-made and ready to go, then filled with chopped birria and cilantro and onions. The little consome on the side for dipping was scrumptious, albeit not very hot.

Now, the criticism. Birria with caldo (soup) was lukewarm. And the birria chunks had a concentrated flavor of tap water. Not sure if it was just me or what. The tacos with that same birria were good, so I'm not sure what to say.

I'll give the place another try, but I'll probably stick to the tacos. After all, they have tacos...

Was there with my family. The fat cashier guy messed up my order and instead of an apologie. I had to pay for the food that he gave us wrong . This place used to be cleaner. Quality of the food is going down and prices going up. After we orderd a white couple ordered and they were served in diferent plates than us, not sure why. Maybe we don't deserve to be treated with the same respect, . Fatt cashier guy even got mad because I asked for an extra plate for my daughter. The tripa tacos that I got were dripping with oil, they tasted reallly bad.. We used to recomend people to come here for many years...
