This review is long overdue. IDK why I waited so long to write it, but that in and of itself is a testament to the consistency of the food at this establishment. First and foremost it's important to note that I live nowhere near this restaurant: 39 miles each way to be exact! It was introduced to me by an ex coworker that lived in Pompano Beach many years ago. Imagine yourself driving for roughly an hour and 20 minutes just to get the food! Worth the drive? Hell YES! As the name implies, Happy Wings & Fried Rice is a Chinese food restaurant where you can find some of the same menu items offered in most of the Chinese food restaurants in South Florida including the different types of fried rice (egg, pork/ham, vegetable, chicken, beef, shrimp, crab), egg rolls, vegetable spring rolls, crab rangoon and fried chicken wings, but this place is SPECIAL. The best way to describe it is a fusión between Chinese food and soul food. Be advised that parking is limited given that the businesses in this shopping center are very popular and there aren't enough spaces available especially for the amount of patrons present at any given time. I recommend calling-in your order 15-20 minutes ahead and bringing someone along for a super quick pick up without having to park. When you come here, whenever that may be (if you're reading this you should and I know you will) I guarantee that you will encounter a noticeable crowd both inside and especially outside the restaurant. Do not be alarmed. I'll admit that I was at first given that there's a convenience store next door that draws a lot of attention, but if you can overcome this initial concern I assure you that it will be well worth it. Per the name, the menu centers around fried rice and chicken wings. Aside from that they offer shrimp, tilapia, conch fritters, crab cakes, crab claws, cheese sticks, french fries, tater tots, fried okra and crispy sweet corn nuggets. For dessert they offer plain New York cheese cake, raspberry creme cheese cake (my favorite), triple chocolate cream cheese cake, red velvet cake, cookies and creme cake and cupcakes. Their best seller however, the #1 menu item and the main reason why I make that long drive time and time again is their yummy, delicious, finger licking, out of this world good chicken wings! These are unlike any other chicken wing I've ever had and believe me, I've tried MANY. They have 6 varied flavors: honey sweet, honey garlic, honey BBQ, honey mustard and my two absolute favorites: HONEY GARLIC PARMESAN and BUTTER LEMON PEPPER! This restaurant looks like it is family owned and operated by an Asian husband and wife team. As far as I can tell they run a tight ship: everything seems organized and clean. If you're in the mood for chicken wings or you're a chicken wing aficionado, this place is a MUST! They're now open on Sunday 'til 6 PM. You're...

Finally tried this place for myself after hearing people rave about it, just for the experience to be tarnished by lack of accountability, dismissiveness, &poor customer service. I’ve never been scolded for someone hearing my order wrong until today. I wasn’t even annoyed about it until the woman gave me attitude when I pointed out the mistake. Had she repeated the order back to me when I initially made it, maybe this would’ve been avoided; but, to add insult to injury, she tried to be dismissive while I was trying to add to the same order SHE got wrong, proceeded to try to keep the amount I was wrongfully charged, and then replaced the rice(the wrong item) with what was obviously just the scraps of fries from a previous order....
Read moreThe food was good. I must say. However but the reason I'm giving this place one stars simply because there was a homeless man or hungry man outside the establishment who a customer was willing to purchase food for. The customer who had already purchased food for himself, asked the Cashier if they would be able to just hand the food to the man outside the store, another woman who seems to be the owner also came to speak to the customer and told the customer that they will not go out there and give that homeless man or that man who was hungry the food. I thought that was quite poor and distasteful. They refused to give that man the food so because they refused the customer decided to take the man somewhere else to get something to eat. It's so sad that we the people want to do good in the world and people like that cashier and store owner make it hard to be...
