1/30/23 @ 5ish pm —-AMAZING food :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Service :⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ close enough to water view —- we were looking for a nice easy going restaurant with outdoor seating near the ocean . Thru google maps we found this place . Easy to get too . Parking inside the plaza . We walked in , we were greeted with a nice view of pastries that they make there . It was not busy day or time . It was a Monday and we were early in the afternoon . My husband always says he gets worried about the food and quality of it if the restaurant isn’t busy . We were the only ones there . So, from the start the three of us didn’t have high hopes. The waitress came over , she as very nice and pleasant. Explained the menu . Oh! We sat outside . FOOD: Starting with the bread : warm and delicious ! My husband got fruta de El mar with some type of pasta . He loved it !!!! My friend who was eating health she ordered the salads . She said it’s really good. I, since I am eating on the healthy side (I travel too much and can’t keep up with eating reverting on sight ) I ordered the quinoa” fried rice “ no rice and no meat of any kind. Wow!!!it was excellent . The best vegan fried rice imitation I ever had . I take my hat off the chef . There is park next to the restaurant . Small park and some seating are . There is a nice view of the lighthouse .it’s in a cove , a few sailing boats . I mean that view is superb !! So, we had a great time , Natasha was an excellent waiter. She wasn’t overbearing coming over to ask how everything was . She did it in the right amount . So, we had a nice time chatting away. The owner came over and asked us if everything was going well . These people care . And the park next to it makes a nice end to an awesome meal. Thank you...
Read moreThis is a very expensive place for food that was mediocre. The omelette was 15 bucks and maybe worth about nine or 10. It was very flimsy and the ham was not cut up and not chewable. I must say that this is the first breakfast place I’ve been to where toast is not a default with an omelette dish. Again, we’re talking $15. Athena over in pompano on Atlantic has much cheaper omelettes that are more robust and much more flavorful. .
The coffee is very good and the bacon with crisp. But my partner had an avocado toast and it was so bland that we actually left it. How many of you ever ordered avocado toast and left it?? We tried to add salt to it but that did not do anything to it.
The server was just OK. I’m not exactly sure why she felt distant because we were only one of two tables at nine in the morning! I mean think of this: it’s the hide a vacation in Broward county and a breakfast place only has four people in it at 9 AM! It is definitely not a friendly service staff. Maybe she was having a bad day? Po In the end I’ll come back here in another month to see if any improvements have occurred. But there should be no $15 omelette at a place like this. Maybe the Ritz or the Hilton on the boulevard in Fort Lauderdale… But not this place. It’s too mediocre to charge the prices they charge.
What is especially sad is that my partner and I are a big proponents of independent businesses. His account has about 500 reviews but I decided to put my comments on this new ware account. There are too many other options for independent businesses...
Read moreWow! Just wow! The moment we stepped in the door the experience was amazing! We were greeted with a kind smile, a greeting and an usher to our seats. The decor inside feels like a Miami bistro, clean and modern. The breakfast/brunch menu was full of excitement and delicious, flavorful delights. Our server, Hector, was very knowledgeable of the menu and the flavors the chef creates. We had the Breakfast sandwich on one of their 'made fresh daily' croissants - oh! Muy Bien! Muy Grande!! Perfecto!!! We had one of the omelettes with chunks of avocado, REAL sautéed spinach and turkey - oh my! Delicioso! We decided to try the pancakes because we are very particular of pancakes...they were the absolute best pancakes from Palm Beach to South Beach. I needed to know if the chef made these the same daily with the thought of coming back; he does! Absolutely, worth the drive. Absolutely, worth a visit! If you are contemplating coming to Nonna's for breakfast/lunch/dinner - you are passing this hidden gem for something sub par if you don't! We will certainly return and look forward to a Saturday night live music experience! Very, very impressed by this gem! The owner stopped by our table to check on our food and experience. He was so kind. We will be returning because of this experience! Muchos Gracias!
PS. Outdoor seating was very modern and comfortable with cushioned couches and...
