We don't live all that close, but friends who were visiting asked us here. It is attractive on the inside, though unassuming on the outside...quaint, nicely decorated, pleasant. There is no outside dining, but the food...ahh, the food...it was absolutely amazing! We had saganaki which was excellent. We had the Greek salad which was authentic. We had thinly sliced grilled zucchini topped with a touch of balsamic and melted goat cheese (yum), we had the most amazing moussaka type of eggplant stack-flavored meat sauce in between grilled eggplant slices and topped with (baked with) Greek yogurt instead of bechamel. It was out of this world... The appetizer sized octopus salad I got was one of the best, and the size was more like main dish. I am not a mega portion person, so half went home, but if you are, this is good to know. My husband had the lamb chops which he said were excellent, and he also ordered the dolmades, which are not the small vegan appetizer ones. They are large and stuffed with minced meat and topped with lemon and yogurt. The grape leaves were authentic and the flavors were pure ecstasy. He brought us a dessert which he called 'Greek cheesecake', and although I am not a fan of Greek desserts in general, this nouveau Greek recipe was out of this world. I cannot describe it, just trust me, you won't be sorry. All in all, I have been to most of the Greek restaurants in the Boca/Delray area and they are just 'meh'...old fashioned Greek food, but not really all that well done...This is elevated, refined, Greek food like we ate in Athens, and it was wonderful. It also tasted like the ingredients used were high quality (EVOO vs. restaurant blend olive/canola for instance). As one other reviewer wrote, this is indeed a gem. A gastronomical gem*. And did I mention that both the owner and the chef (a woman) were very, very nice...

A new Authentic( that's what the owner said) Greek restaurant on Atlantic Blvd in Pompano Beach..Wow..what a disappointment. The owner, Bill, was our waiter. His wife was the cook, who was sitting at a table on her phone when we walked in. We ordered diet Pepsi and waters, asked twice for straws. We started off with Saganaki, a triangle looking hunk of sheep cheese that was way too thick and not thoroughly cooked and greasy.Had to ask for lemon 3 times. It needed to be fried for a few more minutes to make it crisper and creamier. It had no taste. Also ordered the Keftedes, greek meatballs with ground beef, garlic and parsley served with french fries, which turned out to be lemon parsley potato fingerlings. They came out burnt and not fully cooked. For an entree my partner had a lamb gyro it could have been beef, on a soggy gyro( pita bread) with old tomatoes and raw red onions and tzatziki sauce that was soupy, and didn't even resemble tzatziki. It was serve with a supposedly Greek salad , wilted lettuce, like it was under the heat lamp. No feta and one greek olive. I had the Chicken gyro, it was awful. The chicken was dry cubes and grisly. It tasted like it was cooked with the meat. The tomatoes were old and falling apart and the onions were way too strong. The pita was cold , I hid the chicken under my salad and threw away the rest in the ladies room waste basket. It was awful and too expensive for the quality and quantity. I do not recommend this restaurant.Go to the Greek Islands or Christina"s Grill. This restaurant better start to get with the program or there will be a vacant space after...

Great experience and phenomenal food, I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. I’ve been eyeballing this place because it’s so close to me and has such an inviting look. But I will say after trying to food I am here to stay! We started with the octopus to share. It was delicious, flavored with lemon and spices and grilled enough where the inside was still super tender. It came with a side of tomato salad and olive oil drizzle. Then we went for the pita bread & butter which was super flavorful and such a great addition. The sea food pasta was delicious, adorned with shrimp, squid and clams. It was everything I could wish for. My husband for the swordfish with rice and salad. Also a phenomenal choice. The dishes tasted fresh and home made which we found to be charming. Another plus is the size of the plates. While it was too much for one sitting I am fond of taking leftovers, but I’m sure some people will find comfort in knowing you won’t leave hungry. They had tons of wine options that paired well with the food, and our waiter was knowledgeable in the dish to drink pairing so if there’s any doubt you can always ask him.

I will say I was a bit taken with the prices of the plates, but after seeing the size of it I can understand why. The restaurant has a modern look to it which was something I did not expect, since the building outside is somewhat rustic. Overall, great experience and I hope to...

Vinhus, in Pompano Beach. 2201 E Atlantic Ave. Portuguese restaurant in the Newark Ironbound style, in the former space of Ammos Greek Restaurant. Portuguese food is not a cuisine we have easy access to in SoFL. Still, it was widespread when Rachel and I lived in NJ — the Ironbound section of Newark, Ferry Street, and its environs was (and still is) filled with Portuguese and Spanish places and Brazilian food. This restaurant originates from Roselle, NJ, and operated for 12 years before the family moved to Coconut Creek. At one time, the family also owned Sagres on Ferry Street. This is as Jersey as your Portuguese food in SoFL is gonna get. Right now the menu is a soft launch menu, and their official grand opening is not until next month, so it should be considered temporary and limited. The chef/owner is still working out his regular seafood suppliers as he prefers to work with New England shellfish. So if your favorite dish isn’t there yet (mariscada, cataplana, paelha, etc) relax, it’s coming. And yes they do make those thin crispy olive oil fried potato chips you remember. As it was only the two of us we only got two things, a caldo verde soup and a porco alentejana, both were very good, with restrained saltiness. Liquor is wine and beer, but you’ll be happy so see that the wine list is decidedly Portuguese. They make both red and white sangria. Can’t wait to go back.

What a great new find!!! We went with a Portuguese friend who helped with selecting our delicious meals. We started with a bottle of Vino Verde. Apps were pulvo a feira (octopus served with grilled potatoes) and cod fritters (you must try these!) Mains were Paella Valenciana with so much seafood, chicken and chorizo. The lobster could have been a bit fresher and the clams needed a few more rinses, but overall the flavor was good enough. And the portions were enough to share. And Bacalhau a Portugal. Dessert was perfection! Imperial pear. Beautiful presentation, and just the right amount of sweetness to complement the Barros 20 year Port. Parking is valet, or street. We know the area so found free street parking. Service was the only thing that they could improve upon. The servers are friendly enough just not real attentive. I don’t like to have to ask for more water several times during the night. Overall the owner knows well how to prepare bacalhau and the fish is beautiful and fresh. Until next time…Cheers🥂
