Smoke House Cantina (Brunch Only On Weekends) — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

We arrived at the restaurant at 6pm and were seated right away there was no line and the restaurant wasn’t even packed. Unfortunately, that was the only smooth part of the evening. It took 15 minutes for our server to acknowledge us, and throughout the night she was unprofessional and uninformed about both the drinks and food.We ordered two cocktails, which took 10 minutes to arrive, and then it was even longer before she came back to take our appetizer order. We chose the fried green tomatoes, which didn’t come out for 35 minutes. Shortly after, she finally took our dinner order. I ordered the ribeye and asked to substitute mashed potatoes for the rice and beans. She initially said yes, but 15 minutes later came back to say I couldn’t, because it was a “platter.” She didn’t ask if I wanted to change my order or offer alternatives just told me I was getting rice and beans. When the food finally came, it was mediocre at best. I ordered two beers during the meal, which took 20 minutes to arrive and by then, we had already finished eating. At no point did our server check in on us or explain the delays.To make matters worse, tables that came in after us were served and cashed out before us, which is unacceptable. No manager ever stopped by to check on our experience either.We didn’t leave until 8pm, meaning a simple dinner dragged out for two full hours with very little service or attention.I understand the restaurant is new, but the lack of service, long waits, poor communication, and average food made this a very...

The service, food, and atmosphere was amazing! Our bartender Pretty was an absolute joy to be around. Her white and green tea shots are to die for!! They were the best we ever had and just the knowledge of the drinks she makes is amazing!! She makes her drinks from scratch and she explained to us how she makes them. Pretty was even able to accommodate my allergy to flour when I wanted to try the Brisket Nachos, which I really do appreciate!! This may be one of our favorite spots to go because of our bartender Pretty, for she has an aura about her that is very welcoming! I hope one day her efforts pay off and she gets a raise because she does deserve it!! I dont know if pretty is just a bartender because it seemed she was doing everything, I'd say she was more of a manager than just a worker from how well she was running the bar to helping with other tasks. The service and atmosphere were really really top-notch. However, the food did not impress at all. It was overly citrusy or under seasoned based off what we ordered. we received some chips and salsa. The salsa was really good for me because I like really citrusy things but if other people got it, I don’t think they would like it very much. Then we ordered an appetizer the loaded fries which we’re supposed to have corn, but we didn’t get corn on them. We just got cheese and white sauce and bacon bits. The fries according to my husband were the best thing. I ordered the steak tacos, which I really like the tacos but the beans to me taste burned but the rice was really good, but there was no salsa to accompany the tacos so it was kind of bland and boring. My husband ordered the classic Smashburger. he said that it had no flavor and was really bland. I tasted it and I agreed it had a funky taste to it.
