This place is amazing! The food was fantastic. My husband and could not get enough of what we ordered. We had the shrimp “empanadillas” and stuffed “tostones” with octopus as appetizers… wonderful! We ordered as entrees a red snapper which was well seasoned and not over done accompanied by a citrus salad -perfect- and breadfruit chips. Also as an entree but really from the appetizer menu, fish “chicharrones,” which were also perfectly seasoned. Our drinks were sort of a mix bag… in my view the bartender tending bar the night we went to the restaurant, doesn’t have much experience mixing drinks. My husband ordered a passion fruit mojito, and got the regular, no passion fruit. He ordered a second one, this time it did have some passion fruit, just not enough for the drink to be called a passion fruit mojito. Our server had to bring additional passion fruit to put into the second ordered drink. On the other hand, I ordered a “pasión en Santorini,” and it was such a good drink I ordered a second. We didn’t have dessert because we were so full by the end of the meal. Finally, a shout out to our server who went above and beyond service -something extremely lacking in Puerto Rico-, so Keysla, thanks very much for making our night at Constanera complete!
Just FYI-the only reason I didn’t give this place five stars on the food is due to the drink issue...
Read moreWent to Costanera on Thursday, December 26th to meet some friends I haven't seen in a while. Nice place. The food is good. But the security guard almost ruined our night, only because one of our friends met us in the back and did not use the front entrance. Mind you, there are no signs indicating you have to strictly use the front entrance (there are actually a couple of doors and you have to figure out which one is open). He made our friend get back outside and walked him to the front entrance, then let the waitress have it by telling her she needed to check him in. After our friend finally met us at our reserved table, he came back to ask us in a very sarcastic tone, if everything was okay with us now. I told him he was being a little over agressive and then walked over to me and explained in a high tone that he was a professional and had being doing his job for 28 years. That's how our night started. Some people just need to have some protagonism in their life to feel better about themselves. No wonder he's been doing the same...
Read moreAfter seeing it on Instagram & heading to Ponce for a Wine Tasting presentation, we tried Costanera a day before @ sunset hour!! What a spot! For seafood, ambiance & friendly service!!! On the waters edge, 10 minutes from center of Ponce city, your bartender plays Spanish reggae music while preparing his mule cocktail w lavander sprig in a seashell glass… your friendly waitress delivers local catch “Capitan” fish fritters as appetizer… & you stare with awe at the Caribbean Sea with Its own 180 degree sunset view… A tropical- natural magical feel… Then we dove into a succulent lobster “sancocho” a first in my 60 yrs food-travel history ( think: thick broth made w local roots & vegetables, simmered for hrs) & a side of tostones( it’s plantain) instead of bread, to dip, scoop & savor… They also have an excelent wine selection list & cellar. Will return &...
