El Corral Tacos y Guisados — Restaurant in Pontiac

My husband and I went there 10/18/22 because my husband always passes by on his route to work and has been wanting to try. The atmosphere was awesome! The place was nice and clean, fresh smelling! Everyone in there was extremely friendly. We ordered and ate... it was pretty good! We decided that we wanted to order food to take home for our lunches for the following day, so we did. My husband ordered the steak torta, I ordered the flautas. The next day I heated up my flautas, cut them up, only to find that there is hardly any chicken whatsoever inside!!! Ok, whatever, I eat it anyway... I'm hungry and this is my lunch. My husband calls on his lunch hour and I ask him how his lunch is and he says that they forgot the jalapeños. I ask him if he is sure that it is supposed to have jalapeños? He says yes! I look at the menu... then I start reading all the ingredients in the torta. Not only was it missing the jalapeños, it was missing the beans, the avacado and the onion too!! So I call the restaurant. The man who answered the phone tells me that he wasn't there that day then he started talking to a female (in Spanish) and comes back on the phone to tell me that I could bring the food back with the receipt... Kathy was our server and she helped me with her recommendations there was a shrimp taco el presidente I believe it was called which was good but the BEST beverage I’ve ever had she recommended I don’t recall the name but it was non alcoholic something white and creamy with a hint of cinnamon and started with a CH but it was literally the best Mexican food I’ve ever had(no disrespect to the competition closer to where I live which is in lower east Detroit) and it was i believe in Pontiac or Waterford. A friend had brought me there and the building was pretty nondescript and did say “authentic” but I’ve had a lot of good decent and not so good food from places that use that word. 10/5...

The kitchen seemed a little discombobulated with the orders..my carryout order was wrong however when I called back they made it right although I had to make a seperate trip back...and they didnt want me to return the mistaken order...so I got a bonus...pork stew was very good and it was alot...was disappointed with the hard tacos...made with Ortega type shells...like bought it the grocery stores...expected more from a street taco resturant...thought they would be homemade shells...overall the food was good..stew was awesome...growing pains...but overall it...
