Great new coffee shop Kahwa opened in Port Charlotte on Cochran Blvd. Was there on their grand opening which had a great turnout super busy went and tried the coffee. Waited for it to slow down and went back today. Had the pleasure of McKenzie as my barista. I was looking for an iced coffee so she had given me some recommendations and ended up getting an iced mocha, which was excellent and I got some Madelines as a snack. Kahwa has a lot of cool food options and desserts. McKenzie was super kind with the recommendations and also showing me how to work their app. Kahwa is great place with great atmosphere and very spacious. Lots of seating, clean bathrooms, great coffee, and great desserts. I highly recommend checking them out and supporting your local new business. Owners and staff all super friendly and...
Read moreDecided to try kahwa this morning. I won't be back. I got a Irish cream cold brew. A cold brew on their menu is listed as $4.50, but apparently cold foam/flavor is extra, because my total was over $7 (I had declined a reciept, which i now regret.) The foam was good, but the coffee itself was extremely bitter compared to other coffee shops around. Even when the foam had combined with the coffee, the bitterness showed through. Their actual drive thru is a bit of a nightmare. The lane to get to the speaker is pretty narrow, but opens up as you pull around. However, that's where the nightmare is. There is a curb that is a bit out from the building, and makes you feel like you are far from the building (I'm short so, being far is an issue) but if you try to re-adjust, you end up hitting the curb. Overall it's...
Read moreI went through the drive through for an iced coffee, was super surprised they charge 65 cents if you want decaf … no where else I know of charges extra for that. Then your milk, flavor & anything else is also extra. Coffee was not that good, not worth it for me, overpriced & not outstanding. My lid was broken & the lid construction made it hard to drink. Cashier forgot my cold foam as well but he did realize eventually. the worst part is the drive through, I messed up my tire approaching the window. I saw ahead of time all the tire marks and was sure I’d be safe but you can’t reach the window without damaging your car . Poor construction....
