HAD A VERY UNPLEASENT EXPERIENCE RETURNING A MERCHANDISE. I BOUGHT A PET FOOD DISPENSER FEW MONTHS AGO THAT I ENDED UP NEVER USING BECAUSE OF OUR VET RECOMMENDATIONS. IT WAS SITTING IN MY GARAGE AND I KEPT FORGETTING TO RETURN IT. FINALLY TOOK IT BACK TODAY TO RETURN IT. I DID NOT LOOK FOR MY RECEIPT AND WAS JUST HOPING TO RETURN IT AND RECEIVE MERCHANDISE CREDIT. AT THE REGISTER, I EXPLAINED TO THE CASHIER (WHO I BELIVE WAS A STORE MANAGER) THAT I DID NOT HAVE A RECEIPT ON ME. SHE TOOK THE DESPENSER AND SAID SHE NEEDED TO CHECK SOMETHING. SHE STEPPED AWAY AND WHEN SHE CAME BACK POINTED TO A RED STICKER/PRICE TAG ON THE LOWER FRONT SIDE OF THE FOOD DISPENSER WITH A PRICE 0.00 AND SAID THAT IT WAS NOT RINGING UP. I WAS SURPRIZED TO SEE THAT RED STIKER/PRICE TAG BECAUSE IT WAS NOT ON THE FOOD DISPENSER BEFORE I GAVE IT TO THE CASHIER. I ASKED HER IF SHE JUST PUT THAT STICKER/PRICE TAG HERSELF BECAUSE IT WAS NOT ON THERE BEFORE AND SHE LIED TO MY FACE SAYING IT WAS. SHE STATED THAT IT WAS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FOOD DISPENSER AND SHE MOVED IT TO THE FRONT SIDE. I TOLD HER THAT THIS STICKER/PRICE TAG WAS NOT ON THERE BEFORE. I WAS SHOKED SHE DID THAT. SHE THEN PROCCEDED TO SHOW ME THAT THE MERCHANDISE COULD NOT BE FOUND WHEN SCANNED AND STATED THAT I CAN NOT RETURN IT BECAUSE THE MERCHANDISE WAS PURCHASED LAST YEAR AND IT'S BEEN PAST 30 DAYS TO RETURN. SHE ALSO RIPPED THAT RED STICKER/PRICE TAG OFF AND GAVE ME THE FOOD DISPENSER BACK. I TOLD HER I WILL BE BACK WITH MY RECEIPT. THERE WAS ANOTHER CASHIER (MAN) THAT HEARD OUR CONVERSATION. ON HOMEGOODS WEBSIDE, RETURN POLICY STATES: "RETURNS WITH A RECEIPT OVER 30 DAYS, WITH A GIFT RECEIPT OR WITHOUT A RECEIPT WILL RECEIVE MERCHANDISE CREDIT ONLY." IT'S A SHAME HOW A CUSTOMER IS TREATED AND BEING LIED TO!!! NOT ONLY THE CASHIER TOOK UPON HERSELF TO CREATE A STICKER/PRICE TAG OF 0.00 AND PUT IT ON THE MERCHANDISE BEHIND MY BACK ILLIGALLY AND ALSO KNOWING THEIR STORE RETURN POLICY WOULD NOT EXCEPT A RETURN. Read moreToday I went like so many times to buy somthing in this store and I had the most horrible experience, because when I arrived at the register an item was not price and the cashier asked the lady who organized the items to bring an item equal to the one that I had. At this point I replied that it was the last one, Well, the girl kindly tells me that she only needs a similar one to see the price. There was so much delay with people waiting in line to be served, then I went to the lady in charge of finding the item which was a fruit holder and when I found her I asked her for the one I had chosen and this lady was so rude and she did not allow me to return the product to the cash register, arguing that the young woman who attended me was not the manager and she was only following the manager's orders. This lady came back with a completely different item than the one I chose and said it was the same price, since I couldn't understand that absurdity I didn't accept being charged a price that she didn't even know if it was the right one. A real disappointment today. It was the first time having such inconvenient and I hope it be the last one bacause I will never be back...
Read moreLove this store! But on my most recent visit... there was someone at the front door "greeting" shoppers but really it was to inform people they were closing (in my case) in 25 minutes. As I walked through the store I kept getting the stink eye from employees that were organizing the shelves... then when I got to the front area where you normally wait in line to check out (the store still wasn't closing for 14 minutes) the cashier asks if I'm ready to check out... I said nooo I'm still looking at some of the items they had on the shelving near by. I felt I was rushed the entire way through the store. I've worked in many places that closing time is a very grey area...If you have someone that is shopping in your store that may have spent a few hundred dollars an extra 10 minutes would not have hurt your payroll. TBH they probably would have still been there cleaning the store after closing time. Because I was rushed out I only ended up getting 1 thing for $25:( I probably will go back because they have such awesome stuff...but, WOW that customer service...
