Fire up grill smoke,bbq & SoulFood — Restaurant in Port Huron Charter Township

Went there for an early dinner before catching a movie with my husband. Ordered the pretzels with beer cheese as our appetizer and some steaks for our entree. We got our entree first and had to remind our waitress of our appetizer so she ended up bringing it out when we was close to being done eating. My husband ordered his steak medium and it was as rare as rare could be. I ordered my steak well done and it was more medium then it was well done. I do not like my meat where it has any pink in it and my husbands steak was still bleeding. We both had mashed potatoes and gravy with broccoli and that was cold when we started eating. If we hadn't had plans to see a movie that was do to start before we got done eating, we would have sent it all back and asked for a hot meal. The atmosphere of this place feels like you're going to leave with food poisoning. Lights don't work. Floor and tables feel sticky. It's kinda seedy. There were about 10 people here when we came in at 630 on a Friday, and no menus were available.

That aside, the meat at this place is quite good, but dry. Unique BBQ sauce. The fries were not my husband's nor my favorite, and, for once, there were fries left on his plate... which is crazy to think of! Mac n cheese was subpar (needs to be creamier!)

In sum: they need work on their side dishes and their atmosphere. Order meat.

Waitstaff...

Just came out here with my girlfriend and this is out first time ever walking out cause we don't like the food or the way the situation was handled. The catfish was bland and my chicken sandwhich was bland and burnt. We were waiting 50 minutes for our food, Had a talk with the owner abd told him that we'd pay for our drinks but not the food he tried to call us liers and say we were not waiting for 50 minutes which I have receipts I showed him that we were since we just came out of JCpenny to go eat here.
