Nick's 4 Roses — Restaurant in Port Huron Charter Township

Edit July 2925- I've gotten the cobb salad a few times since my review from 2 years ago. The salad is not anything like I used to get. The proportions aren't the same. Barely any toppings compared to before. Couldn't tell there was bacon or walnuts in it and the bleu cheese crumbles were lacking as well. Next time I come in going to have to tell them I guess. Please please be consistent because that salad used to be phenomenal! Party of 3- Came here for lunch before a basketball game. Server (Gabby?) was friendly, happy and efficient! Food came out exceptionally timely and perfect temp. Impressed that the chicken breast on my Cobb salad was juicy and hot. Speaking of Cobb salad, it was the best Cobb salad I've ever had! Perfect proportions of all the toppings. Most restaurants make Cobb salads all the same .. Not here! Lettuce mixture (with carrot), then tomatoes, cucs, hard boiled egg, bacon, and walnuts.... And the Bleu cheese dressing was quite different than traditional store bought, yum! My other two part members received a large Mickey Mouse pancake (filled her up nicely before her game) and got chicken strips with fries and a salad. All hot, all fresh, great portion! So, in summation; I tend to be a little picky (I guess) when it comes to being especially happy with my food because it seems people don't care what they make or serve, BUT this outing proved to be THEE time that just solidified my mind in going back more frequently. I used to work at Big Boy for a decade many moons ago... And I worked with Marc... I've seen him every time I come in, which hasn't been but a handful of times (I don't live near)... That being said, what you have there is called an asset! Same with Gabby. Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient employees are hard to come by, and I certainly hope Marc is being treated well for everything he is worth. The hospitality industry is pert near a thankless job, so here's my thank you for today, for a great dining experience! I WILL be back and I WILL recommend this establishment before any others....

Making an update from my last review. I had to bring down my 5 star rating because of what one of the servers had said about me. I frequently visited this restaurant almost once a week. I loved it there until this last time. As I was sitting at a table close to the cash register I over heard a server that I will not mention here. She said to a different server as she pointed to the table that I was sitting at, and said I don't like that table you take it. This place to me really stood out above the rest at refilling drinks, even if they were not your server. This server wouldn't even look at my table or even ask if I wanted a refill. When it was time for me to pay the check, I asked the cashier (totally different person) if I had done anything wrong, she got very nervous and stumbling over a simple question. I asked very sincerely and quietly. I didn't cause a scene but the way the cashier acted gave me proof that something was wrong. So I will not ever be going back to this place ever again, which is sad to me because I absolutely love going here. I wish this place and the workers there...

DISCRIMINATES AGAINST THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY! DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS! IF I COULD I'D LEAVE NO STARS! STOPPING THROUGH PORT HURON WITH MY SISTER WE DECIDED TO STOP AND HAVE A BITE TO EAT. WE WALKED IN AND WERE GREETED FAST AND GAVE OUR DRINKS ORDERS. THERE WERE 4 SERVERS IN THE RESTAURANT. WE WAITED AND WAITED, NO ONE WOULD MAKE EYE CONTACT OR COME OVER TO OUR TABLE. ANOTHER COUPLE CAME IN AND SAT DOWN NEXT TO US. THE SERVER PROMPTLY WALKED OVER AND TOOK THEIR DRINK ORDERS. STILL WE WAITED! THE SERVER WENT BACK TO THE TABLE THAT SAT AFTER US AND TOOK THEIR FOOD ORDER. I TRIED TO GET HER ATTENTION TO ASK WHO OUR SERVER WAS. SHE IGNORED U.S. COMPLETELY! NOT ONE OF THE 4 SERVERS EVER CAMEBACK TO OUR TABLE. WE PAID FOR OUR POP AND LEFT. WE BOTH GOT THE DISTINCT FEELING THAT BECAUSE MY SISTER IS GAY THEY THOUGHT WE WERE A COUPLE. WE HEARD 1 OF THE SERVERS SAY SHE DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE OUR TABLE. WE LEFT AND WENT NEXT DOOR TO ARBYS AND RECEIVED EXCELLENT FAST SERVICE. IT'S A SHAME PEOPLE ARE SO FAST TO JUDGE WHAT THEY...
