Los Rios Mexican Grill & Seafood — Restaurant in Port Lavaca

We decided to try this place after about a year since eating here. We were greeted, handed menus and had our drink order taken right away. When we received our drinks the chips and hot sauce was delivered, that’s when it all headed south.

The chips are not homemade but definitely a standard chip that can be purchased anywhere and the hot sauce, though fresh, was too spicy to enjoy.

Our entrees came out which was the Carne Guisada plate and Taco Salad. The salad was a 5/10, a little scrimped on the ingredient and the shell was a bit greasy. The Carne Guisada and beans had a good taste but it was the hours that proceeded that caused the problems. Great breakfast. Ordered a bacon and egg taco plate and coffee. I also ordered Ranchero sauce on the side. Within a few minutes it was promptly served. The refried beans were very flavorful as well. Most mornings there aren't many breakfast customers in the main eating area as there were in other restaurants that serve Mexican food. But the breakfast plate I usually order on a regular basis is consistently good. The waitress is usually attentive and the atmosphere is ok.
