If you really want to serve a fried shrimp Poboy’s, I suggest that you look at the pics on LeBleu’s Landing in Sulphur, Louisiana. I was very disappointed when they served me with a 10.00 poboy which had 4 shrimp. I told the waitress that if that was all they could afford to serve then I did not want it. I was ready to leave.
She stated that they could add 2 more at no charge But they always put 4 on it. She had them add the 2 extra but I’m still upset. Right is right and wrong is wrong. She delivered the corrected sandwich back to me.
I was so disappointed still and I told her that they could eat it. I wanted nothing of it. I offered to pay for the 2 sips of mediocre iced tea. I tipped my wait staff because it was not her fault.
I suggested that they look at the restaurant that I normally eat at. I told her that they used the small shrimp but it was covering our sandwiches enough to where you do not see bread. Perhaps I am just spoiled by my small town restaurant. Time will tell.
My final words to them is “they are taking advantage of the public if all they can afford to put on the sandwich was 4 lousy shrimp.”
My waitress was wonderful not her fault. Owners or management should really reassess this and decide if they would pay that much for bread.
I for one will not. I proceeded to go to Shellfish Sports Bar and Grille where I am being charged accordingly for a nice meal. Sorry guys this is one to skip in my honest opinion. No pics they took it away quickly.
PS The barmaid waitress person decides that it is her responsibility to scold me for making them waste the food. I told her that I never touched it nor would I do someone could eat it so it did not go to waste. Really? Whatever happened to the customer is...
Read moreWhat began as an amazing experience & seemed like a true hidden gem I had discovered, soon soured at the end.
1st off - the building & decor were nice, good ambience.
2nd - Great service!… our waitress was very friendly & super helpful with my 20 month old daughter. One of a handful of places I’ve been where you actually felt like a guest & welcomed whole heartedly by the server.
3rd & usually most important was the food. Great menu w/ good pricing. Variety was good & when the food came out the flavor was great. Portions were good & food seemed homemade instead of frozen off a truck. I couldn’t wait to come back & try one of the other dishes I had to decide between.
By end of meal, I was very happy. Great service, great food, my daughter even ate her food which is hit or miss. I was happy to now add this place to the rotation of places my wife & I would go on our mini day trips.
Then came the end & I was pretty disappointed.
Our server when she dropped off the check for table didn’t charge us for the unsweetened tea because we didn’t get any refills nor did she charge me for the kids drink my daughter took 3 sips out of.
But when I got to the register, the penny greedy lady working the register rang me up for $10 more than what my check was. When I asked why she said she was adding our 3 drinks the server chose not to. I said, my daughter’s was kids cup & wasn’t drank. She still left it rang up at regular drink price… same as mine & her uncles.
I now pass by it to go elsewhere on the principle when we go to port Lavaca & indianola. Shame too as the food &...
Read moreWhen you goto a restaurant called Texas Traditions you expect homestyle generous portions. I ordered Jacked Chicken which cost $17.99. What I received was half a small thin cut chicken breast with a little cheese a onion and bacon on top. It was tasty as were the small scoops mashed potatoes and green beans that came with the dish. But, the portions made me wonder if the accountants were running the kitchen. The service was friendly but very slow. We may have caught them on a bad night because they had an event going on in back, but it took a long time to get my tiny little meal. The accountants theme was also evident a checkout because the have a surcharge for paying with a credit card. My advice to management is to know your market. You have good food but you're too focused on short term profit. The other half of the spit chicken breast and a generous sides would have completely changed this review and might have cost you $1.50 in actual food cost. Penny wise and pound foolish costs you this...
