Typical pub atmosphere, music, pull tabs, the works. If you're here for food, the daily specials are weirdly top-tier for the price, and we fairly regularly come here for the wings. Also, a lot of the food is smoked, which is pretty above-and-beyond, if you ask me. Beer selection is okay, they don't have anything dark, which I find is kinda annoying, but that's more of a "me problem". The bartenders tend to be busy helping other people, so expect some delays, that's fine, pretty normal for busier places like this. If you're not here to stop by daily, check out their specials for the week, like how we come here for the wings pretty often; the specials are all really cheap and most are good, and every daily special also includes deals for drinks, too, like a day where they "blow the keg" or a deal where they do margaritas and such for cheaper.
One thing I've gotta mention, though; the steaks. Sure, they're surprisingly cheap on their special day (Tuesday, I think? I forget), and the meat itself is okay, but we've had steak here twice now and both times were cooked incorrectly. Mine was undercooked the first time, somewhere just under rare, dangerously close to being what's called a "blue" steak, and just recently we had some guests visit and one got a steak here, and hers was overcooked quite a bit, a bit past well done. Thankfully it was a to-go order and I took it home, chopped it thinly and added it to a different meal to salvage it, but that was still massively...
Read moreI love visiting local pubs when I'm on the road, and the Port Orchard Pub is one of the good ones. I sat at the bar and, as a good tender should do (in my opinion), she allowed me to get settled before asking about ordering anything. The g&t was terriffically mixed - and the second was just as well made as the first. It was pretty quiet, though there were a few well known locals adding to the atmosphere. This is not a complaint - it added nicely to the welcoming feeling. It's one reason I love the Pub scene... The first tender seemigly clocked out, and her replacement was equally as wonderful - though maybe a bit more on the side of waiting for me to flag her down. The only "dark" spot, if it can be called that, is that my food was delivered with the one condiment I asked to be removed. Not a game changer by any means and, despite the unwanted condiment, the food was definitely among the better that I've had at a pub (and I've been to more than a few). I would definitely recommend checking out the Port...
Read moreI went here yesterday with my sister for tacos. Service was great at first! But then shift change happened and a bartender who has personal drama with me outside of the establishment all together whom I do not care a single thing about was glaring at me from across the room behind the bar. Later that evening, my sister encountered both bartenders from that night at a different bar and they made disparaging rude comments to her over a falsified set of events that occured at another establishment over 6 months ago. As a bartender, it's discouraging wanting to return to your establishment when you have bartenders that can't set their personal feelings aside to allow a customer who was there before there shift to gracefully pay their tab and leave like I was trying to do. I wasn't not going to say anything until these entitled brats made comments to my sister. Would not recommend...
