Ok, we were blown away. This place is a great find. They were packed when we first drove by as it was about lunch time. We stopped up the street and walked down to try them out. We sat at the end of the bar and ordered our drinks. They have a great simple menu and offer some delicious seafood options. We did not plan on eating as we just ate around the corner but she overheard us talking about the boiled peanuts. She did say something like "start with those" and I thought she meant the drinks so we ended up with boiled peanuts. We both looked like she was from Mars when she put them in front of us and she said "is that not right." We said we had not ordered them but it was not a problem, we will eat them, we like boiled peanuts. She apologized alot and we said not issue at all. I will say a slight discount would have been nice to see since it was an error but we did eat all of them and they were delicious. So be it. We had another round and saw a woman send her entire meal back as too salty. They dropped it in the trash and comped her food. She was a loud obnoxious woman who likes attention so we refused to turn around and give her what she wanted. She was an embarrassment to her table as they just basically tried to ignore her and talk over her. The ambience is great. Light and airy and tropical but not overly so. Clean and well maintained. Tiny little kitchen which boasts of seafood smells. So good. They have a small bbq out back that they were blazin' chickens on. There is an outside patio to the east so it loses the sun later in the afternoon and allows people to sit outside without roasting. I cannot wait to go back and try some of their food (outside of the peanuts) because it all looked great. Fair prices, friendly service and just a down home spot on the water. Stop in and belly up to the bar or grab a table. They are pet friendly (keep them on the floor )...
Read moreThis quaint little Restaurant/Bar does a nice job serving the locals and providing some solid food. The cajun boiled peanuts were an appetizer you don't see very often outside of a carnival or fair, but they were a hit at our table. They did come out a little cold though, as if they had been refrigerated and then heated for our order, unfortunately just not long enough, still tasty though. My wife had the fish sandwich. The portion size was good, and the fish was cooked well, but it was very heavy on the Old Bay seasoning. For her side she had the red skin potatoes, they were perfectly seasoned and well cooked. For the kids I was a bit surprised that the options were all $6.29, to me this was a little high compared to other places we've been. It also doesn't seem likely that the kids shrimp, pb&j, hot dog, cheese quesadilla, or mac & cheese would all cost the same but they are. Needless to say, for that price we ordered the shrimp. When it arrived there were 4 shrimp, and they were still in the shell, again this seemed a little unusual for a kids meal. The flavor was good, they were cooked well, and the kids all seemed to like them. For me, I ordered the fish tacos. The order comes with two tacos full of the same fish used for the sandwich but cut smaller, and then topped with mango relish/coleslaw aioli; it was good. The service was great, very friendly, quick with drinks, taking our order, and bringing our food. Overall, it was a decent stop but not a favorite on our list that we will...
