We come here pretty frequently so we decided after a long day of work on memorial day (5/27/2019) we would come here to get our usual nachos, beer and burgers. We arrived at 8:25 pm, the restaurant had one big table of people and 2 other small tables with couples..otherwise completely dead empty. We sat down and waited 10 minutes for a server even though we counted at least 5 standing around. Finally we got a server his name was Korey or Casey I couldn't quite understand what he said. He also had the one big table he was helping that was half way done eating...but still the place was EMPTY! We ordered a long island and a water as well as placed our food order at the same time. It took over 10 minutes, again, to get our DRINKS. The bartender was just standing around talking and joking around. As soon as our drinks arrived we ordered a beer right then because we knew the wait would be long based on what just happened. The next beer didnt come out until just a couple minutes before the meal arrived. As soon as the meal arrived he set it the food down, didnt ask if we needed anything else, didnt provide any silverware to eat nor any napkins or condiments were on the table. We ordered our second beer at this time which we didnt her until we were DONE EATING so we sent it back, yet he still charged us for the beer... He never came back once to ask how our meal was so I was unable to ask for a fork to eat my meal with. 100% of his attention was on the bigger table. We never got an apology for the long wait times. Yet the table next to us were checked on by a different server 10x more than we were and were in and out faster than us. We come here frequently but will no longer come back. There is absolutely no excuse to have that many servers on staff, little customers, and THAT bad of service. I mean come on...... we didn't even get utensils to eat our food with and was never asked how our meals were (or if we needed anything like silverware or napkins or ketchup for our burger.) Our memorial day dinner after a 12 hour shift for my husband and I was awful thanks to Rum River....

Sunday evening, I took my niece, two daughters, son-in-law, and granddaughter for family get-together dinner. Even though the place was not busy, it was understaffed and we had to wait quite a while to get our orders, but it's a nice location, and the drinks were good, so we didn't mind a whole lot. It gave us plenty of time to socialize and catch up. We ordered three appetizers, the grouper fingers which were spongy and gross, the Cobia bites, and the fish dip. I ordered the flounder fish and chips which were soggy, and definitely not deep fried. We had our meal when we left.
At 4:00 a.m. I woke up with an urgent need for a trip to the bathroom. After that, I couldn't go back to sleep because I was feeling a little nausea. About 6:00 a.m., the time I usually get up for work, the vomiting started and what came up was undigested flakes of flounder. After 6 hours of continuous gut-renching nausea with intermittent vomiting, I called the restaurant a little after noon to inform them of the problem. After a second phone call, the general manager called me back, and he was absolutely incredulous that The Flounder was soggy, he said that they had served 40 of those on Sunday with no problems, but if someone from another party had a similar issue he'd let me know.
About two o'clock, my daughter called the check on me because she had to go pick my granddaughter up from school because she was very ill, nauseous, and vomiting. About 3:00, my other daughter called to check on me because her husband called out from work with the same problem.
Never get the fish on sunday, even at an overly pricey seafood restaurant with...

Ordered Boneless wings as app , then Crab Legs & Coconut Shrimp & Hurricane with crab, mussels, shrimp, red potatoes & sausage, Gator & Beef Tips & Potato Skins. Waited 15 min to get a waitress & then no menus. Seafood overpriced!! Had buckets & Bahama mammas. Arrived at 5:05pm. After complaining of no appetizers after 1 hr & 5 min (when could find someone to complain to), we asked for a manager. He arrived to tell us our order was only placed at 6:15 when we arrived!!!....WHAT???? NO....untrue and unacceptable!!! Not our fault....waitress came once and walked by 6 times with not even looking our direction. Hostess brought us napkins as none in container. Mgr said were short staffed. Appetizer arrived 23 min after complaining!! Food arrived at 7:10 And rest at 7:23pm. Had nothing to crack crablegs with...grandson did not get his shrimp, red potatoes Or sausage. Potato skins were burned and hard & they dared to ask if we wanted new ones after this long a wait!! Beef tips were nearly burnt & tough & chewy!! Comped a drink & said wud take 25% off bill......SERIOUSLY???? Oh, and comped pot skins after I complained!! The bill came & was still $130 with full price of $45 on snow crab & $30 on Hurricane meal & beef tips still on it!!! Could not find mgr to complain or refuse to pay bill. We watched 2 other people get angry & complain! We paid & left.....but sadly NEVER will go there again!!! To say we were horribly angry & disappointed in one of our favorite places ever would be an understatement!!! Too many other places along the water to visit!! Mistakes can happen, but this was a major...
