Plain and simple I regret my purchase and most definitely will never go back. I asked for my wings to be fried crispy and they were not. They were so soft as if they'd been boiled and then sauced. Needless to say I took one bite before realizing what was coming from the wings. I looked for the nearest gas station parking lot that I could find for a trash can. I pulled in and put these wings right where they belonged!! Concerning the customer service, the woman that answered the phone when I placed the order was very pleasant, patient and professional. The guy whom I believe is the owner did not come off the same way when I picked up my food. Although his demeanor wasn't blatant he did have a undertone of rudeness but I was able to brush past that and kept it moving. Bottom line: wouldn't recommend.

The chicken steak was ok, just very dry,but was still good. The chicken tender platter are store bought nothing special about them. The cheese steak was good the best of all we had, we asked for mayo never got in the sandwich. We ordered to sit there but they had music so loud that you could not hear anything, so there was no conversing. If I'm in the area I might stop in again, but will definitely not go out of my way to do so.

I highly recommend Philly 40 in Port Richey, Florida. The staff is fantastic, and owner Nico is deeply involved in our community. Their Philly cheesesteaks are amazing, with soft bread, big flavors, and made to order. My personal favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Philly—it hits all the right buttons! Can’t wait to check out their Friday Jams!

Was next door at Robert's picking up a bbq dinner for my wife. Thought I would try Philly 40 for the 1st. time. When I walked in, there were no other customers at the order counter, and no customers waiting for an order. I ordered full size #1 classic, and asked to add pepper rings & mushrooms to my Cheesesteak sub, along with a side of fries. Paid for my order and added a tip to the jar. Stepped outside and waited just a few minutes. A gentleman met me at the door way, and said "Classic". I figured that was me, because no one else was there waiting. Got back home, and opened up the bag containing my order. When I unwrapped my Cheesesteak sub. There was meat cheese and onion on the sub bun. But there was no add on mushrooms or Pepper rings that I had asked and paid for. Since I live quite a distance away. I just took it as lesson learned. I probably should of checked my sub before I left there. But I figured since I was the only customer there at the time. Just figured they really could not mess this up. Anyway. The Cheesesteak sub was just ok for me. You do get a hearty sub here. But I found the meat a little dry to my taste, but did have plenty of chopped onion mixed with it. The sub bread was super soft and fresh. Almost like it was homemade that morning. And it did hold the ingredients well. But still lacked the mushrooms, and pepper rings I asked to be added. As for the medium thick cut french fries. They were hot right out of the fryer it seemed. Not really sure if they hand cut their own fries? Or if these are a frozen product? Anyway I had to give a rating of 3 stars here. Not the best. But then again not the worst for the money. It's a middle of the road establishment.

Respectfully. Reciept #73...

  • update* 12/29 my husband and I were ordering a couple of times a week but the past few visits in the last month have left us disappointed. I'm only adding this so the owner can see and be aware as they have a lot of potential. Up until about a month ago, there was consistency and the cheesesteaks were great. The past few visits, the bread has been so soggy it is like eating wet bread and it had never been like that before, even if we ate our takeout 30 minutes after picking it up. Last night, our onions were huge, long strips that were almost raw as opposed to diced and grilled. It really ruined the sandwich. I do not mean to bash because I truly believe it's just a matter of training and if you don't know it's a problem, it can't be corrected. We will be back but it will be a while to give them time to fix the issues. I can say that the lady who cooks delivers a great cheese steak but if she's not working, we're disappointed.* Leaving my original review in addition to the update because up until recently it was very true! -Awesome cheesesteaks and great staff! Glad to have this place locally! I lived in PA for a few years and these are the first I've tried that compare! Y'all are...

Finally a Cheesesteak that can hold it's own against cheesesteaks actually made in the City of Brotherly Love!! For the past 3+ years I've been looking for a cheesesteak that compares to what I was used to getting when I lived in the Philadelphia area. Philly 40 is the spot! This was my first time getting food here and apparently I came at the right time. It was their 2nd day open under new ownership and management. Let me start by saying that the manager (Ambria) was very friendly, when I was placing my order on the phone. She made me feel even more welcome when I arrived to pick up my food. I was treated like an old friend or family member (in a good way lol). I give the classic cheesesteak an A+++, it was excellent. The roll was fresh, and soft with a slightly "crusty" shell (which is the way it should be), and the ribeye steak was flavorful, and seasoned just right. I went with Provolone cheese, and grilled onions which were proportioned perfectly with the generous portion of ribeye! If you want an excellent Cheesesteak, Philly 40 is the place to go!! I will be back...
