Shellring Ale Works — Restaurant in Port Royal

I loved this place! Great brewery, right on the water. Stopped by for the first time while visiting the area. We stumbled upon a lecture in progress on SC soils. There was a nice community turn out. Everyone enjoying themselves and listening to the lecture. We tried the Coco Porter and Aria Lager Red Amber. Both great drafts! We ordered dinner from the permanent food truck that is based there. You don't have to go outside to a food truck to order. You order dinner where they pour the drafts, you get a number, and then they bring the food to your table. The food was excellent! Check out the menu, you won't be disappointed. All the folks working there were so friendly and happy to answer any questions about the different beers. The large room where you drink and eat is casual and you sit at shared long tables, although there are few smaller four top tables and outdoor picnic tables. What first blows you away about Shellring is its fantastic home on the Broad River. Beautiful. I can't name a brewery anywhere with a better location on the water. It's like being on a movie set that is real. If you can't chill here. Well, you can't chill. Brought a friend to say thank you to their 2nd Anniversary but wound up thanking them. I ordered all their fantastic food, which was delicious. The bartenders were right on with their service, and their warm smiles sealed the deal. The music under the sparkling sky was great, and the people we met were fun. In the background, Nick and his Staff never stop watching to ensure all is well. Great spot to stop and have a drink or two (or three).

Drinks have all been great (partner gravitating towards the Mornin’ Fil’ and myself gravitating towards the Jelly and Tropical Ambrosia (both being absolutely great refreshers in the upper 90s weather.)

Seems like they have good variety in their drinks for anyone that doesn’t like traditional beers (like me) to people that like darker beers (like my partner)

The food itself was also pretty dang good from Revolver, quick turn around from ordering to eating.

Staff was friendly each time we’ve been by, regardless of how busy they are they’ve been quick and attentive.
