Shake N Cow — Restaurant in Port Saint Lucie

It breaks my heart to leave a negative review, but I have to be honest about my experience and am leaving it in hopes that the owners/ management make the appropriate changes.

I went a few weeks ago; there were only two very young people behind the counter who seemed like they were giving it their all and doing their best, but were unable to keep up with the line. On top of that, there were some issues with an online order someone else placed, so that was distracting from the people who were physically there patiently waiting for service. Some of the staff seemed like they were kinda new; I'm not upset with them, I'm upset that someone with more experience wasn't there to make sure things were going smoothly.

When it comes to the ice cream itself, I have to say I was underwhelmed after the way this place was hyped up. I had ordered a sundae, which was served in a cup? instead of like a "boat" style dish? I had asked for hot fudge, which they put on the BOTTOM of the cup... I wasn't really interested in eating 10 spoonfuls of plain vanilla ice cream to get to that fudge... so that was disappointing to say the least.

As we left, two people outside who we saw as we entered and assumed were patrons, wished us to have a good night and thanked us for coming in; we also saw upon leaving they may have been doing face painting (?) So it seemed like they maybe worked there?? If that's the case, it really perplexed me why they weren't inside giving the kids a hand, because gosh did...

Visited tonight (03-17-22). Very unimpressed. The place was extrememy dirty. Dirty napkins all over the floor and tables, the tables were dirty, the containers where they keep the toppings were dirty, the trash can had ice cream dripping down it...etc. Not only was it dirty, but there were about 4 empty ice cream bins that hadn't been removed and roughly 5 or 6 of them were mislabeled. When I told the clerk she said she had noticed that earlier today (?). One of the freezers was broken so that's about 10 or 12 ice cream flavors missing. This place looks like it used to be a froyo place and they just decided to slap some paint and decor on the walls rather than rebuild the inside to make room for seating. My husband ordered a shake (I didn't get anything cuz I was kinda grossed out and I also only knew what like 3 of the flavors actually were since they were mostly mislabeled) and we walked out without a straw because they didn't have clean straws available. They had one of those machines where you press on the bottom and an unwrapped plastic straw comes out (hi, we are 2 years into a pandemic, that's effing gross).

The two girls that were working there were very sweet and had good customer service skills. Obviously none of this is their fault and I wouldn't expect them to be blamed for any of these problems. Whoever is running this joint just needs to know what's going on here because this place does not meet expectations in...

We were so excited to go after continuously seeing all the advertising on FB… everything we wanted, we were told was not available?☹️ no cotton candy, cake milkshakes (like advertised) or the bubble waffle sundaes. Everything we drove there for! My niece ordered a waffle cone and it was so watery it came out thin and rubbery (as seen in the photo) so bad the rest of us ordered either a plastic cup or regular cones. I never tasted or saw such a sad waffle cone in my life 🤣😳! The young girl who helped us was SUPER sweet & tried her best but obviously needed help or additional training. The other young girl who was on shift did not help her, even when she asked for help. She eventually helped her with another customer but after like 30 mins (still helping us) and the other customer was waiting… we also were told we couldn’t eat inside so we had to sit outside in the cold which also additionally frustrated me. Had I known it was going to be this bad I would’ve went to something closer to my home. The ice cream in itself tasted good but the experience was poor and we were sadly disappointed we didn’t get any of the cool things we seen in advertisements or on their menu. For a basic cone and ice cream I would’ve went to kilwins in traditions… or something...
