First time I've had an unfortunate service experience, especially at this location. We go out a lot and this is a place we probably go about once a month. It wasn't very busy in regards to everyone sitting already had their meals. We ordered water and a lemonade. 2 Greek salad sides before our meal which are great but she never took my parties plate which was pushed to the side of the table and had silverware on top (obviously a finished plate). The burger did not come correctly it was VERY pink and undercooked since they asked for medium well. Which I saw our waitress write down(so not her fault), the issue is she never came to check on us after our meals so I had to wave her over to get her attention to let her know the meal was wrong. She did get that taken care of and had a new one made. Still leaving the salad plate off to the side as well as not checking on if we needed new drinks, especially since my other party was waiting for the new burger. We sat never being checked on, only when waived over about the incorrectly cooked burger. So overall: never were checked on, table was left unclean, never received refills (nor at least asked), and was not checked in on to make sure the new burger was actually cooked correctly. I ordered the Gryo Platter which normally comes with a decent amount of tomato, onion, and meat. However, this time around it came with 2 Mini tomatoes and 2 strings of purple onion. My other party ended up giving me the tomato that was left over from their salad that was still sitting on the table. Which again is not our waitresses fault that it was cooked wrong the first time, but is also disappointing as the quality use to be better than this. The meat in the middle/bottom of my plate was a little underdone (almost a soggy soft texture) and thinner than normal so I actually ended up having no leftovers to take home which is a first as whenever we come to this one or the one in Palm City I always have enough meat/good meat leftover to take home. Overall we are just kind of disappointed in the service today from the food to the wait staff. Maybe it was just a bad night for them, stuff happens, but for $29 for 2 people with meal issues, barely service at the table and no leftovers, we are kind of disappointed. Our waitress was Melissa(who was very kind but as...
Read moreWe walked into a dirty table. No big deal they cleaned it off. It was still sticky and greasy. The waitress told us that they don’t use the correct cleaning supplies to be able to clean the tables properly, but they use with the owners tell them to use.
My wife ordered a Greek salad with calamari. They said they couldn’t do that. When I told them that their other location could do it and that we’ve ordered it there before, they insisted that they couldn’t do it.
She gave us a few minutes and came back, and my wife decided just to order the calamari appetizer. The waitress at that time told us that they were out of calamari. Not sure why she just didn’t tell us that when my wife tried ordering the Greek salad with the calamari.
She gave us a few minutes and came back. My wife ordered pastitiso. The waitress said that they were out of it. This time I was looking around for hidden cameras because I thought I was on a reality TV show. My wife ended up settling with a Greek salad.
I ordered my food and one of my sides were roasted potatoes. The food was delivered to the table without the side, no big deal thought they were bringing it. I got up to use the restroom and the waitress ran me down and told me they were out of roasted potatoes.
The waitress was very apologetic, but the service wasn’t impressive at all. One would think that going through so many issues with the table she was assigned, although not her fault, I would get superior service as a result of everything else.
I also don’t expect to get anything for free, but at no time were we offered any discounts, free desserts, or anything else. When I receive the bill, and there were no discounts or anything else for all of the issues that we experienced at night, I was surprised.
My wife’s first instinct was to get up and walk out after the first failed order attempt, but I thought we would give it a chance. Should have gotten up and walked out.
I normally wouldn’t post something like this, but when the bill was handed to me, there was a sticker on the folder, asking me to review my experience. Probably should’ve just handed me...
Read moreAfter numerous attempts to get a Gyro on a toasted pita from this restaurant yesterday I've made the mistake of trying to give them another chance to get it right after all what's so hard about toasting a pita bread I ordered two Gyros I specified to the waiter to make sure to tell the cook to toast the pita good I even gave him an example of the difference between white bread and toast the waiter went in the kitchen the cook came out I explained to him what I wanted he said no problem I know you want an authentic Greek gyro I take care of it when I went back home I took out the Gyros and the pita bread was all white I squeezed it together and I made dough out of it if I want to eat dough I go to Taco Bell and get a Soft shell taco or a burrito
PS: in response to the comments by the owner of Spiros Tavern the effort by your staff was greatly appreciated unfortunately the outcome was not especially when I asked numerous times for the pita to be toasted and all I got was dough formed like a pita I'm sure some people like it like this but that is not what I asked for and it's not what a pita on an authentic Greek gyro looks like look at the photographs what I received and what a toasted pita should look like and then take accountability that is if your ego allows you to My family owned the first Greek restaurant in the state of New Jersey-Clinton Steakhouse I made more gyros in my lifetime before I retired than you ever dreamed of selling I even make the real Greek yogurt for the sauce not what they pass as Greek yogurt in the US with clear gelatin to make it thick I would think as a restaurant owner you know the difference between a white doughy pita and one that's toasted so let me show you the difference between a toasted pita and a flour tortilla or burrito and if you want to know what an authentic Greek Gyro looks like let me know I make one for you as a matter of fact after seeing what is passed down here in Florida as Greek gyros I think I'm going to come out...
