Where do I start? Well, me & my husband drove from Miami to visit The Saint’s Pub (3/30/24) in hopes of seeing the great band Shepherd & Green & grab a bite to eat. Unfortunately we were met with straight attitudes, strange looks and horrible service as if we wasn’t wanted or belonged there. As we looked around, we noticed that we were the only BLACK PEOPLE in there. After waiting about 30 mins for someone to come to our table, no one came. My husband then proceeded to get up, walk over to the bar and ask for service. As he turned to walk away, she showed that she was extremely bothered by him asking for service. She rolled her eyes & mumbled words under her breath. She then rudely came over to our table, slammed the menu & silverware down in front of us. Me & my husband surprisingly looked at each other in disbelief. I asked her name in which she refused to give. She rudely stated Joanne would be over & madly walked off. I told my husband that it’s clear we’re not wanted here. My husband stated you’re right..we’re not the right color for this place. They don’t want our BLACK A$$E$ here, so let’s go. It was such an uncomfortable & embarrassing moment for us. We got up in total disbelief and left. The band was very apologetic but after all it wasn’t their fault. You really hate to think that in 2024 things like this still happens but we were shown that racism still exists unfortunately. We were just a Black couple trying to have a great time in a different city & enjoy the band but it turned into a night we would never forget. Conclusion…IF YOU’RE BLACK, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU....
Read moreWhen we first arrived Sat night for dinner & a band, all tables but two had reserved on them. This was our first time there so we didn't know reservations were requested. I asked the bartender if those were available and she said I had to see the lady in the back named Mitch. She herself tried get Mitch's attention but she looked up and said replied she was busy. So I waited about 5 minutes & walked back to her and said excuse me and before I could say another word she in the nastiest tone of voice rudely snapped at me and said "don't talk to me I'm busy" and walked away. So I went back to the bartender Sabrina & asked who else can I talk about the tables. So she told me to take the table and she would deal with her. The bartender took our food & drink order all evening order while Mitch totally avoided us all evening. The food was excellent though and the band was great. I just don't understand how a restaurant could have a person in her position be so rude and nasty to customers. For a first impression and a first time there we probably won't go back just because of her. Thank you Sabrina for making it an enjoyable night...
