Unfortunately, I got scammed by this guy. I reached out to A Lotta Wood because I am having a wedding and wanted to have them cater. Initially when talking to Chef Stone, I was super excited, loved his energy and thought he was going to be the perfect person to cater my wedding. My fiance was a little hesitant to book anything right away when we haven’t even tried it, so I expressed this to Chef Stone on October 23rd and he said “no problem”. He’d set us up a private tasting where we can try all the different pies/salads before booking for $125. So I sent him the money and we set a date for Monday October 27th. We were all looking forward to it! Like what a cool experience. Leading up to that that day, I hadn’t heard anything but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Still nothing so that morning I reached out asking if there was anything we needed to do to prepare. He read the message but did not respond. I thought this was odd, but people have stuff going on, again giving the benefit of the doubt. We were set for 6:30p that night and at 5p, Chef Stone texted me saying that he “accidentally” double booked himself so they wouldn’t be able to accommodate. He said that he would refund me the money and that he felt really bad. Again, being the nice, understanding person I am, I said no problem…shit happens. I was expecting a refund of $125 that night, because that seems like the right thing to do. Nothing came. I reached out the day after saying, hey this feels a bit scammy to me can you please respond and send the money back. He texted back with an excuse and asked for my Venmo, but yet still no refund. So here I am now, Wednesday Oct 29th, writing this long review hoping this will be the answer to getting my money back. This whole experience has put a bad taste in my mouth. It’s giving sleezy and slimy and taking advantage of people’s kindness. Please refund me the $125 you owe and this review will be taken down.

11.6.25 UPDATE - still no refund. He "accidentally" declined my request for the refund. Said its "never gotten this...

Alotta Wood Fired Pizza – A Promising New Spot with Great Crust and Room to Grow

I’d driven past Alotta a couple of times before finally stopping in—the location is slightly tucked away, but the big pineapple out front definitely catches the eye.

The space itself is open and inviting, with plenty of seating and what looks to be a solid setup for events or gatherings once they’re fully up and running. There’s a bar built into the space, though it wasn’t operating yet during my visit.

The pizza is solid. The wood-fired crust sets it apart from a lot of other spots around Portland—crispy, chewy, and full of flavor. I like that they offer half-sized pies, which makes it easy to try a couple or keep things more individual. My partner and I shared the full-size Paniolo, and it was more than enough for the two of us. The slow-roasted pork, mushrooms, and jalapeños all played really well with the smokiness of the crust.

The dessert pizza, on the other hand, didn’t quite hit the mark. The same crust is used, which is great on its own, but a little too dominant for the sweeter toppings.

There was a bit of a wait—about 30 minutes for two pies—and drink options were limited to bottled or sparkling water. It would’ve been nice to have a beer while waiting, especially with the bar teasing you in the corner.

Overall, Alotta has a lot of potential. The pizza is genuinely good, and once they iron out a few early kinks it’ll be a great addition to the...

A must for outta this world wood fired pizza made with some serious love and care 🍕

Affordable prices, super friendly service, and quality food; what’s not to love! We paid for their meal deal and got a generously sized pizza, a salad and two drinks. More than enough for two. We ordered the paniolo which not only had their house made mozzarella, crispy bacon, and candied jalapeños but BRISKET. They hooked us up and added fresh basil, confit garlic, and honey too. The dough was crispy on the edges and soft and chewy in the inside.

Their spot is absolutely perfect for upcoming spring and summer nights but also has covered seating in case of rain. Ping pong for the kids and and archery range earlier in the evening on weekends.

Don’t sleep on Alotta, they’ve got the best pizza...
