I can't tell you how many times I've ordered takeout from Bai mint Thai. I am probably one of their extreme regulars (but I'm a little more under the radar now that my BF orders the food for us; in reality, I'm twice as active of a Bai mint Thai eater than the amount of printed tickets in the kitchen suggest). I believe that at this point, I have ordered everything vegetarian on the menu at this point (we ain't veg but don't get meaty often). I'm so grateful to have this neighborhood gem to keep my frequent Thai cravings at bay. important notes: the vegetables are always lightly cooked, never overcooked, and the dishes are full of em. they are so crisp & I love it! you actually get a really hearty vegetable serving with these dishes. the soy chicken is really good in noodle dishes, where it won't soak in sauce(like soup or a curry). it's good in those saucier dishes too, but the soy chicken will act like a sponge and can get a bit rubbery. I always get tofu in the curries or saucier dishes - it holds up better and stays firmer. I love their egg rolls - they're very fresh and not overly fried. I don't really care for super Dee fried egg rolls and usually stick to spring - until my man got us the egg rolls and I was completely floored at how delicious they were!!
literally everything I've ever gotten here slaps, and I've never had a bad experience in the 4+ years. almost completely forgot to mention now dang sweet everyone always is at this restaurant, I've always had such a positive experience with all of my interactions. and now I gotta sign off this review bc my BF just got home with takeout from Bai mint Thai!! I can't wait to see...
Read moreI waaaaant to give 5 stars bc when its on point Bai Mint is incredible. I have found the quality very inconsistent here when ordering mostly the exact same things. Even when it is of a lesser quality, its still really good so 4 stars. I feel the price point is reasonable for the quality and amount of food per dish. The spice scale is a dice roll. Sometimes they make it actually spicy when asked, and sometimes its super mild even though xxxhot is requested-but the flavor is still very good regardless. Ive had the fresh rolls when theyre springy w crisp insides and chunks of creamy avocado-some of then best ever. Ive had them tough, misshapen and lacking avocado but w a HUGE chunk of celery in the middle. It was a chore. Worst tom kha soup i ever had-only ordered once and cant bring myself to risk it again. Its odd the soup sucks, bc their curries are absolutely delicious. All the noodle dishes have been on point. I have never eaten in-house so cannot speak to service, but ordered over a dozen times and its always delivered pretty quick! (Points for in-house delivery so you dont get gouged by app fees.) Clearly, the offbeat quality of the couple of items ive ordered a couple of times dont cancel the excellent times. I will definitely continue...
Read moreTeriyaki chicken at a Thai restaurant? Yes! And my friend and I thought it was the yummiest, most perfectly cooked teriyaki chicken we've ever had. It was served in one of those cute Eastern compartmented boxes with rice, salad, and sauces and, as we usually do, we shared it, along with some lovely sweet potato deep fried appetizers. Our appetites satisfied, we left with the impression that if they can do non-Thai food that well, we'll definitely be back to try their signature dishes, too.
We happened to be there on a wim, between rush times and the service was cheerful, attentive and quick. The room itself was well lit, comfortably arranged, and like the prices, on neither end of the too-fancy/rustic spectrum, so it seemed welcoming to anyone. I particularly enjoyed the many large photographs of what I assumed were diverse scenes of Thailand, so you can imagine you're traveling to the place where your flavor experience comes from.
Hopefully a review of actual Thai food will follow soon, but I'm pretty confident of happy...
