I had never gotten lash extensions before and was excited to try them before my wedding. Helen had to reschedule on me twice, which I didn't mind since I was getting my lashes done around the July 4th holiday and totally understand when you get that last minute invite to a BBQ it is hard to say no. But for my third try at scheduling an appointment time, she asked me to come earlier than I had said worked best for my work schedule, but I was willing to accommodate her needs. So I left work early to accommodate her request. But then she texted me only a few minutes before the appointment to say she was running late (after I had already left work) She ended up running 45 minutes late. She should have communicated much earlier about her tardiness. It is a bit frustrating, considering I had been accommodating, but that is not worth a bad review in my opinion. The reason for the 2 starts is that then she had to rush my initial set since she had another appointment after me waiting, and because she was rushing, she glued some of my natural lashes together. She also did not glue the lashes on in the appropriate direction. The lashes looked nice at first, but my eyes didn't feel great and a couple of the inside lashes kept on spinning sideways and poking me in the eye. I finally had to get the scissors out and just cut the two lashes off closest to my nose because it was so irritating. I resolved to get one more fill before my wedding and then ditch the lashes after my wedding because they just didn't feel great.

I'm so glad I went to someone else for a fill. Sam at Lash Maven took her time and corrected Helen's crappy rush job. My eyes feel TONS better and I can actually brush them now fully root to tip without them constantly snagging. She unglued my natural lashes in the spots that were causing pain and redid a lot of Helen's work. And now my lashes pretty much stay all in the same direction without me having to constantly move them into place 5x a day. I love my lashes now that Sam at Lash Maven fixed them. I'm wishing I had gone to Lash Maven to begin with. I don't doubt that Helen can do a good job, given the reviews, but her work quality is...

When I moved from San Francisco, I searched for a lash tech to replace my go-to back in the bay. I'm pretty picky with my lashes and my eyes are uneven (one monolid) which makes it challenging. After a couple mediocre sets from other (highly rated) lash techs in Portland... I found Lash Baby studio and have been going to Hellen ever since.

Her studio has a parking lot and there's plenty of parking across the street. Inside the studio is clean and welcoming. The beds are comfy and the temperature always seems just right (no need for a blanket)! Hellen is such a hard worker; I admire her very much. She is also so kind, so gentle, SO real, and it's always fun to catch up with her. Sometimes it's so relaxing, I nap the entire session. My lashes always looks SO good afterwards and most importantly stay intact between fills. I never wear makeup yet my confidence is through the roof thanks in part to Hellen.
