El Rinconcito Yucateco — Restaurant in Portland

First google review ever, but I had to for the best mexican spot in town! I've been in Portland for 3 years from somewhere with good, authentic Mexican and I've been on the hunt. Every place has fallen short on something, expect this one. Best salsa I've ever had, top 3 tamales I've ever had, best horchata I've ever had. Everything was packed full of flavor, the asada was tender, the tortillas were clearly homemade. I don't know that I've ever had table salsa at a restaurant where you can tell the veggies were roasted properly. The depth of flavor was amazing. I haven't eaten this good in a long time. I was smiling ear to ear my entire time here. Will definitely be back...

BEST MENUDO EVER!!! It is a very generous helping and packed full of flavor. The Poc Chuc and Salado de Puerco are both specialties and some of the best pork dishes we've ever tasted.

The staff is very friendly and they bring you freshly fried chips and fresh, delicious salsa with your meal - the full restaurant experience. Their horchata is also superb and not that powdered mix stuff either.

The only downside is the food is so filling we've been here twice but didn't have room left for flan or churros. Next time we plan on ordering dessert...

Edit: been here 10 more times. All but one dish was 5/5. Great food. Very authentic Yucatán menu with rare and hard to find dishes from the Yucatán. In the picture is cochinita pibil. They serve it with the broth which isn’t super common and the broth is quite delicious. This place replaced a staple Jalisco restaurant that used to occupy this building.
