This place is great, but not for Millennials with young kids that want to run around and climb on things.
You have placed a stage and barrels in the outdoor seating area and you expect kids not to climb on them, you’re ridiculous.
Level and Crux have figured it out, they understand a large percentage of their clientele are Millennials with kids, with disposable incomes. They have put out play equipment for kids to climb on.
My table easily dropped $200 in food and drink, and I understand if you’re concerned about kids’ safety and liability, but the way your staff handled it yesterday was inappropriate. He came out and said, “I’ve told your kids three times to stop climbing on the barrels, if I have to tell you again, you’ll have to leave.” Excuse me. First of all, my kids are two and four, you talk to me about their behavior, not them. And two, you can have a little tact when handling these types of situations (it won’t be your last) remember, we’re paying customers that will take our dollars elsewhere if we don’t like the way we’re treated.
So to parents, if you’re looking for a place to hangout with friends, grab drinks, eat at food carts, and let your kids run around, I recommend Level off Marine Drive. They have several carts to choose from, a pinball area inside, a nice covered area for the winter, and a very large grassy area outback with a playground. Oh, you can even bring your dogs and let them run around in the...
Read moreThe beer selection looked solid. Unfortunately, the experience fell apart as soon as the food arrived. I ordered a pizza, hoping for something decent to go along with the drinks. What I got was a charred, overcooked mess. The crust was so burnt it was nearly inedible, and the toppings didn’t do much to redeem it — bland, uneven, and clearly an afterthought.
When I politely mentioned the issue to a staff member, their only response was: “We cook it like this.” No apology, no offer to fix it, just a shrug and a standard line. That kind of indifference really kills the vibe.
I get that some places go for a “wood-fired” or “crispy” aesthetic, but there’s a difference between a well-done crust and one that’s simply burnt. It felt like they were more interested in defending bad execution than making sure guests have a good experience.
If you’re just here for the beer, maybe you’ll have better luck. But if you’re hungry — especially for pizza — I’d suggest...

Oakshire always has some great brews on tap, and the pizza and adjoining food carts are pretty great. Staff is ALWAYS pleasant and professional. location is convenient and clean.
My only gripes are that the burger cart on their lot keeps odd hours (I want to say it closes at 7 on Fridays), and isn't open on Saturday, and also the outdoor seating seems to be an unofficial kids playhouse on the weekends at night.
Edit: burger place IS open on Saturdays. My bad.
On that note, if there was some kind of age restriction after hours (no one under 21 past 8 PM on the weekends or something), this would be a S-tier hangout spot. As it stands, it feels unwelcoming to people without kids on the weekend. Children are quite literally running around and screaming all night and most (not all) parents seem to take a "hands-off' approach to parenting and just let their...
