As I walking around Sellwood, I found Senyo on New Year's Day, I was pleasantly surprised to find a cozy spot open for a comforting meal. With a limited yet enticing menu, I opted for the black garlic ramen, maze soba, and gyoza.

The black garlic ramen was a delightful bowl of umami goodness. The broth, rich and robust with hints of garlic, enveloped the perfectly cooked noodles, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The tender slices of pork belly were a savory delight, adding depth to each spoonful.

The maze soba was a unique and satisfying choice. Mixing the savory minced meat, chewy noodles, and a medley of toppings created a symphony of textures and tastes that kept me going back for more.

The gyoza, with its crispy bottom and juicy filling, were an absolute treat.

Overall, Senyo exceeded expectations with their delicious offerings, making it a delightful start to the new year. The fact that they were open on a holiday was an added bonus, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their...

I heard great reviews of their black garlic ramen, so I had to try it myself. This food cart is in a small Smile Pod of three. But two of the food carts are from the same restaurant, and only one was open.

I tried the dan dan noodles with a 3-spice level and black garlic ramen with a 4-spice level. First of all, it really wasn't that spicy, even at 4 stars. I would definitely ask for 5 stars next time.

The ramen bowls were quite small. Although the ramen cost $13.50 a bowl, there wasn't much ramen or soup. It came with only one thick slice of char siu. There were some corn and pickled radish. I was missing a soft-boiled egg or seaweed slices. The soup base was very good; I think it could have had more garlic flavor.

The dan dan noodles were very similar to the other ramen dish; just the soup base was different. All in all, it was a tasty bowl of ramen. I feel that the value may not be as good as some other ramen...

I've tried just about every known ramen place in Portland, and I can tell you this is among the top 3 easily. I got the black garlic ramen and it was phenomenal. Broth is extra rich and creamy, noodles the perfect texture. Look forward to going back and trying more of the menu. And you can tell the chef is really passionate and cares about the food. If you like authentic Japanese ramen, definitely give this place a try. I don't care if you aren't close by, it would be worth the trip! 10/10 recommend.

Another thing worth mentioning is this place is very fairly priced for what you get. The portions are good, and I can tell you based on the ramen a lot of labor and love goes into their broths! $13.50 for a bowl of ramen of this size and quality...

DONT SKIP THIS PLACE!!! I almost did. They have very little covered seating but it is a food cart so it’s nice they even have seating! The service was fast and the food was delicious. The gyoza were juicy and flavorful with a delightful crisp on the bottom. I had the black garlic ramen level 4 spicy and could not get enough. Savory, unctuous in all the right ways, and plenty of bites with the noodles and pork. I’d order a second if my stomach could take it. My partner got the tan tan ramen level 3 spicy and it was equally delicious but far lighter and more balanced. Absolutely recommend!
