Ordered sandwiches April 5, 2020 from Subway App. Paid from App received notification that sandwich would be ready at 8:40 pm. Subway of Portlands website states they were open until 9:00 pm. Went to pick up sandwiches at 8:30 pm and Subway was closed. Also tried calling Sunday and they do not provide the ability to leave a message. Spoke with the owner told him he needed to modify his hours on the website due to Corona - he told me he couldn’t and didn’t know how. Also told me they close early on Sundays - again hours are not reflected on website. The owner told me $16 was not a big deal and not a lot Of money. Had to go into Subway to get my refund - tried to explain the situation again about the app - showed him screen shots of the information received from Subway’s app regarding my order - he told me I WAS WRONG - only was concerned to make sure I didn’t call my bank to process a refund because his week was closed and didn’t want to ruin his accounting for the week. He became very agitated both on the phone and again in person! Also he didn’t know how to issue a refund - how does a business owner not know how to issue a credit!? Drove to the establishment, arrived at 8:07pm, I could see 2 employees through the large glass store front, became suspicious because the dining room lights were not on. Hours on the door concurred with Google listed hours being open until 9pm. Door was locked. Employee waves hand across her throat, I can only assume she was saying that they were closed as I could not hear her. I pointed to the hours painted on the door. Still gesturing, shaking her head, again assuming she's telling me they are closed. The owner of this business kindly left his phone number printed on the door. I called him. He tells me they close at 8pm now and that there is a printed paper thay says that on the door, that he hasn't gotten around to officially changing the hours on the door or online. They did not toast 2 subs and the guy argued with my husband about them being toasted or not. Seriously argued with him.. and still didnt toast them. He came home so mad. I toasted them for us.
