I've been coming here at least a few times a week for a few months since they're right down the road from work, but more and more I'm traveling across the city to eat here, the food and prices are that good! My go to order lately is samosas and fresh KUNAFA!! 2 bucks a piece for freshly handmade samosas, with a delicious chutney! Kunafa that's not too sweet, just right, either cold or warmed up, also handmade! The lamb and rice plate with salad is huge, the meat is so tender and flavorful, and it's only 10 bucks but feeds me for 2 meals. And oh my god the mango lassi is to die for, literally. So smooth and mango-y and not too sweet (to my palate, that's the highest compliment). The guys who work the kitchen and the man at the register are all so incredibly sweet and welcoming, they treat me like family every day. The atmosphere is like an old school corner store, southeast Portland "bodega" vibe. I hope it never changes.

I walked over from the Bridge City Laundromat as I waited for some clothes to dry. My initial thought was to grab a snack, but as soon as I saw the commercial kitchen and I heard the savory sound of grilling-- it didn't take much more convincing than that. I did grab a bag of takis because my inner child needed it. I ordered a lamb shawarma with extra garlic sauce and hot sauce both in the wrap and on the side. It was beyond delicious. And then I had the brilliant idea of adding Takis dust and more sauce to some of the bites I had left, and by golly, was I really glad to have done that! Did I mention the price was incredibly affordable!? I am for sure coming back for the two-fer day!

I'm not a fan of the phrase 'hidden gem', but for this place, I'll make an exception. We had lunch here twice in a week and we don't repeat very often when we visit an area. The lamb shawarma was excellent- the flour tortilla wrapping is a different presentation but it totally works. The chicken taco special (4 for $10) is a fantastic value. I had a steak quesadilla the second time and it was fabulous as well. The baklava was also very nice. Super friendly people and excellent value for a great casual meal. Don't be put off by the location inside a convenience store

Oh my WOW! EVERYTHING on the menu is soo flavorful. Visited 3 days in a row, trying something different. Of course, I had them make to order, don't feel pickles or ketchup belong on true Gyros but they accommodated my special requests, to leave this off. Beef cheese burger, excellent comes with fries. Beef tacos, lil spendy for one, but again, the food is fresh and very flavorful! Baklava, outstanding, little pricey but worth it. (See pics) Ahzeez (sp) and Carmelita, exceptional hosts. Friendly and accommodating.

Lived in the neighborhood for 60+ years, when it was Paul's Foodlane. This place has really upgraded. I know they'll get busier with the new park, but please don't change, stay true, not...

Nothing is worth ordering again. The guy refused to acknowledge my existence, probably because I'm a woman. He came and asked my boyfriend what he wanted, asking if that was all and left without asking what I wanted. We had to go back up to the counter to order again, and he seemed very confused. Yes, women eat too shocking, I know. It's 2023 and we're in America. Women are people too. What a concept!

We tried the chicken samosa which was super dry and greasy, beef gyro with overcooked, flavorless meat, strange toppings like pickles, an acceptable sauce that's not worth having again as well as a overcooked tiny burger with fries that tasted like old oil that were never crisp. Hard pass for so...
