I’ve been seeing afghan food on social media for awhile and specifically kabobs and eggplants combos. I’ve been hyper fixated on this forever and I knew Taste of Afghan was around and they had the eggplant I’ve been wanting to try! I was able to stop by at the food carts and ordered a combo plate with chicken and beef with rice. The lady was so sweet and kind and let me try the eggplant because they offer it as an entree not a side. SO KIND. I was very excited. The food was very tasty and yummy. Also the eggplant did not disappoint this was so good and I will only eat it this way definitely worth the time to wait and try...The chicken was juicy and flavorful I ate it all so fast i wished I had more haha. The lentils was also flavorful along with the spicy mint sauce. I will be returning as this is now one of my favorite dishes! Thank you!!! I don’t know if there are other afghan food options east of the willamette so I highly recommend trying...

The aunties in the truck were super nice to us, greeting us in Urdu. Once the food arrived, we did not know where to start. It was steaming hot, but all of us burned our throats in eating. A few tears were shed as we ate, with memories of home and our mothers' cooking flooding in.
We will remember the Taste of Afghan for...
