If you're looking for a place to put your food cart put it somewhere else if you want to succeed. You will not make any money at this pod.
I had a cart at the Yard for a couple months before I went out of business because the Pod didn't have the foot traffic and business that I was told they had. They mislead me into signing a lease they knew I would not be able to fulfill and now they're threatening to take be to court. They also lied about completion of the pod when I moved my cart in by saying that the fencing would be finished two weeks later. When I closed my cart a week before Christmas they still hasn't completed the fencing which kept my cart in a blind spot to customers entering the pod for two months. The owners have Zero experience in food service and Zero experience running a food cart pod which is a recipe for disaster for the cart owners in their pod. It looks like they even went as far to buying 4 and 5 star reviews here on their Google page to make themselves look better.
Update: I received an email from the Attorney of the owners from the pod and they're threatening to sue me for this Google review. This corporation is using their deep pockets to bully a small business owner who has closed his business and has nothing left. Is this the kind of people you want to do business with? People that think they can they can use their money to push people around? People that will threaten legal action to silence someone from speaking out against them? The court of public opinion is much stronger than the legal court and the people of Portland don't like corporations that take advantage of and bully...
Read moreUpdate: I realized that I could review each individual vendor, and have done that. The Yard at Montavilla itself was great!
Delicious food! We enjoyed food from five different vendors and they were all very good. Everything seemed to be very clean, and we appreciated the outdoor covered dining area and it was a great environment. Very family friendly! Since you asked, it was very good, but what was lacking to make it excellent and earn 5 stars was: I was told after ordering that my Thai food would be ready in 10-15 minutes, but it was only ready in about 45 minutes. Also, he asked if I wanted it spicy or not, and I said not spicy, but it was very spicy to the point where I had to take a drink of my lemonade after almost every bite. Not a big deal, but the sushi truck was charging $0.50 for payment with a credit card, which would have been my preference over cash. Also not a big deal, but the gentleman at King of Steaks had a very strong accent and was difficult to understand (we mostly understood him because of his gestures rather than his words), so it made it difficult to understand the details of what he was trying to offer, but in the end, everything we ended up...
Read moreI cannot speak about most of the carts at the Yard however, the new Vietnamese cart called Little Bear has horrendous customer service. We arrived over 15 minutes before their opening time at 5pm and waited in line behind one other customer. As opening time approached the line behind us grew longer and when it hit 5pm a group of three customer walked up to the window cutting every person in line who has been waiting patiently. We told them politely that there was a line but they ignored us. The owners of the cart proceeded to take their order without telling them to go to the end of the line. They also neglected to apologize to any of their other customers who were...
