I recently visited the Great North Coffee Shop and had a delightful experience. The espresso I enjoyed was fantastic, thanks to the barista who pulled a wonderful shot of their Tule blend. The overall vibe of the place was perfect for a coffee shop, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that there was an unpleasant smell, reminiscent of a bathroom, which detracted from the otherwise great atmosphere. Despite this, I would still recommend giving this place a try for their excellent coffee and friendly service.

🌟 **The Great North: A Hidden Gem in Portland** The **Northern Cappuccino** at The Great North is nothing short of amazing. The barista behind the counter is a true artist, meticulously crafting drinks for each recipient. Watching them create a **handmade matcha** is a pleasure in itself. The cozy seating, good Wi-Fi, and big windows make this little downtown spot perfect for work or relaxation. Plus, there are plenty of plugs to keep your laptop charged. If you're in Portland, don't miss out on this delightful coffee haven! ☕🌿

I don’t usually write reviews unless I know they make a huge impact on me. So here I am. My first rule of thumb is always taste their black coffee first and if it’s amazing then I branch out. This place is so cute, however their basic drip/black coffee tasted like the beans were a little burnt. My husband does love his basic vanilla latte and sadly that was also not that great. Maybe they had a bad day? Maybe it’s just me? But these are just my two cents as a native Houstonian :)

I don't like change at all in fact I'm not a fan of it and I wish it was back the way it was on the inside.

However, what has not changed is the excellent coffee and on top of that the great service that you get from this place and they do make a very good mean roast.

I'm about to head up there for another roast today. If you want to talk about trendy coffee places this is pretty much the spot.

I really like their outdoor ceiling and I'm pretty sure they don't mind if people cigar outside.

Now as a suggestion I suggest that this coffee shop start lighting up their store because it's the holidays now and it's time for a little bit of festive cheer!

About the only equivalent that I have is that I don't really like these new coffee cups as they're so thin. I got it we should all reduce reuse and recycle but I really prefer the older style coffee cups where they're much thicker and feel better in the hand.

Like I said these are just small quibbles but I really enjoyed my coffee there and the bartender pardon me the barista knew exactly what I wanted as I explained it because I often forget my...

This place is great for coffee people. Very friendly service, coffee made right, food made right. They clearly care about what they are doing. For me, personally, though, it was a bit over the top. The prices are higher, but i totally understand why. They put a lot of time and effort and care into their coffee and business, and it only makes sense to be compensated for that. The coffee itself wasn't over the moon, but i also dont have that kind of taste for coffee. It could be the best coffee in town, and I wouldn't have a clue. Beats Starbucks, I know that much. I appreciate the work they are doing, but this wouldn't be my personal pick...

It was a very odd interaction with a female staff member with blonde hair. She was very dismissive and act like we were a burden when we were clearly just placing an order. She didn’t respond at all when we greeted her, it was awkward.

It’s unfortunate because the atmosphere was actually nice, and the drinks were fine. Maybe we just had one bad experience, and I’m sure other staff are probably more welcoming.

Still, won’t be coming back because we just didn’t feel welcome. I understand if you have a bad day or tired, but if someone was being polite , you shouldn’t treat them like they should not be there. 👍🏻hope the...
