The Proper Cup — Restaurant in Portland

We're not usually in the area when The Proper Cup is open, but this week we were! My daughter and I needed a spot to sit, caffeinate (me), and have a second breakfast (her) -- before heading over to her summer camp for the week.

The Proper Cup has excellent coffee, tasty baked goods (my favorite was the cinnamon roll), a punny wifi password, and a pleasant atmosphere. They didn't even blink when I presented my reusable coffee cup from home.

Today, I forgot my wallet. It was possible for me to pay, but it was a whole thing and in the middle of it, my daughter announced that she needed the bathroom, and no, she could not hold it and please would I go with her? The employee manning the register was gracious and patient with us, and for that, I am SO grateful. Thank you,...

A great little cafe.

I quite literally stumbled upon The Proper Cup by accident, and I'm glad I did. It has quickly become my favorite coffee spot in the area, due to the prices, atmosphere, and quality of product.

I usually get the mocha latte, which is delicious and packs a punch. I've also tried a few of their pastries, which always look delicious and always seem to be rotating. They do a lot of tarts and fruit pies, as well as cake and even a few savory items.

A picturesque execution of a modern rustic cafe. Cozy without being crowded achieved by a perfect amount of seating. Meant of the seats have access to an outlet making it a good place to work if you're there early enough . They use real cider (not the powdered nonsense), and there are good vegan food options, all served with the pragmatic efficacy and kind smiles. Good parking options around the block. This is a place I'll look forward to visiting again the next time I come...
