This place could be a perfect karaoke dive if it weren’t for the horrible KJ that seems to be the regular Saturday night dude. It’s as if he’s never actually been to another karaoke bar. Rather than writing your songs down on a ticket or even just telling them to him ahead of time, he only takes your name. Then when it’s your turn to sing, you have to tell him your song while he looks it up. It’s incredibly inefficient and everyone ends up standing on stage awkwardly for a few minutes. He also leaves his station to go outside and smoke during just about every song. No exaggeration. He often has to run back in because the song has ended and everyone’s just waiting for something to happen. I’ve seen him queue up the wrong song too many times. Most recently when we were there, he announced that someone had walked off with a cordless mic and refused to continue until they brought it back. He walked around the bar asking people but no luck. He finally went back to his station to find the mic on the floor. It was there the whole time. Maybe if he had been around when the last song ended he would’ve seen that mic fall on the ground. Great BARTENDERS! Jen and Lou and Shelly are the best! Tamara makes me laugh and she's a 49ers girl...smart lady.. They are always really kind. If you like to sing you can do it 365 days a year here....but there's also a patio to sit outside and visit and still be able to talk to friends and be able to hear them. People that come here are salt of the earth. I've still never seen a fight like most bars (eventually) and that's awesome. I wish there was still a pool table tho! I noticed pinball now tho?! Sweet! You all need Big Buck Hunter and some more games if your not bringing back darts or pool. You can tell the bartenders at night like what they do and they are literally some of the best bartenders I've ever come across...Jen makes you feel like your home, she's the reason I kept coming back here in the first place, and fast...holy moly:).....One of the girls said this building is 90 some years old. DO NOT START A TAB HERE! First, they overcharged me. The CO2 didn't work, so they said they'd take those terrible drinks off the bill and just charge us for the beers. They didn't. The tab came to $83. I didn't argue-just added a smaller tip and rounded up to $100.00. THEN THEY CHARGED ME TWICE! For both the $83 and the $100. THEN THEY IGNORE MY CALLS! I was only in Portland the one night so I came home to Denver, and called over a dozen times to have them fix it. Until this point, I never thought it was on purpose! However, the owner/manager FINALLY calls me back and says he'd fix it. He never did. Now they just say they'll pass on my message but ignore my calls. $183 for a few beers (3) and some nachos and a plate of lies about fixing it. If that's okay with you, enjoy this place.
